What happens if you eat a lot of fat
In the world of healthy eating, fats have been hit hard: they have been demonized and declared the enemy of a beautiful figure and well-being. For many years, nutritionists were not honored due to calorie content - 9 kcal per 1 g (for carbohydrates, for comparison, 4 kcal), but recent studies have literally rehabilitated them. It turned out that fats, like carbohydrates, are not all the same.

There are saturated and unsaturated fats, the former are literally detrimental to health, the latter help burn (!) Fat accumulated in the body. Saturated fats not only lead to weight gain, but also provoke the accumulation of visceral fat (encircling the internal organs). In a small amount, it is necessary, however, according to statistics, most people have it in excess. This leads to a number of problems with the liver, kidneys, cardiovascular system and can provoke a number of serious chronic diseases. Unsaturated fats are slowly digested, thereby eliminating the risk of overeating, have a beneficial effect on the functioning of all body systems, prevent a number of diseases and can slow down the aging process.

However, even the healthiest fats (like avocados, red fish, olive oil, and nuts) should be eaten in limited amounts. When there are too many fats in the body, their appearance no longer plays a big role - in any case, it is harmful. There is a violation of the digestive processes (bile does not have time to emulsify all incoming fat), deterioration in the absorption of protein and some macronutrients, an increase in the need for vitamins, and disorders of fat metabolism. From here follow - an increase in body weight with all the consequences, a sharp increase in the risk of developing atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus, cholelithiasis and cardiovascular diseases, which remain in first place in the list of the most common causes of death.

At the same time, if there are few fats in the body, you will not expect cherished weight loss, but a lot of problems in the body. For example, lethargy and apathy, metabolic disorders of certain substances, slowdown in detoxification processes, a sharp decrease in the number of certain enzymes and hormones, deterioration of the skin and hair, an increase in the risk of all kinds of inflammation ... With a lack of fat intake, the body rebuilds its work, trying to make up for the deficiency by synthesis, wasting additional strength and energy.

That is why fat intake should be strictly within the norm. As to what this rule is, experts differ somewhat. The most suitable amount for the body of an adult is 30% of all calories consumed. This 30% percent should include monounsaturated fats (olive oil, nuts, avocados) and polyunsaturated fats (fatty fish, egg yolks, walnuts and other vegetable oils). Only in this way will you be able to provide the body with everything necessary for proper functioning.
