What’s leaky gut:
Leaky gut,also called increased intestinal permeability, is a condition in which bacteria and toxins are able to pass through the intestinal wall into the bloodstream.
Leaky gut occurs when the tight junctions of the intestinal wall become loose, allowing harmful substances to enter the bloodstream.
Some medical professionals deny that leaky gut exists, but there is quite a bit of evidence to confirm that increased intestinal permeability is real.
For example, leaky gut syndrome is present in several autoimmune disorders.
And it’s also tends to lead to several autoimmune diseases..as it’s one of the major factor that also contributes to abnormal immune response..and autoimmune diseases occurs as a result of abnormal immune response which is the immune system attacks healthy tissues and cells.
Causes of leaky gut:
The exact cause of leaky gut is a mystery.
Zonulin is a protein that regulates tight junctions. And leaky gut occurs as a result of loosened junction
Research has shown that higher levels of zonulin can loosen tight junctions and increase intestinal permeability.
Two factors are known to stimulate higher zonulin levels in certain individuals.
1:Bacteria and
2:Gluten
There are also factors that stimulates leaky guts
1:Excessive use of NSAID
2:Stress
3:Excessive Alcohol/smoking
4: Nutrition deficiencies
5:Excess sugar intake
6:poor gut health/yeast overgrowth
7:Inflammation
Leaky gut can contribute to other health issues
Including:Allergies,depression,chronic fatigue syndrome,skin disorder, fibromyalgia etc..
Symptoms of leaky gut:
Abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, bloating and gas, weight loss,cramping and sometimes mucus in stool.
How to heal from leaky gut..
Limit usage of non steriodal anti inflammatory drugs,
Reduce/stop smoking and alcohol intake
Limit sugar and refined carb intake
Eating plenty of high in fibre food
Eat fermented foods
Taking vitamins supplements..
Doing all of
