❓Who is Brian Mulligan?
If you're not sure, we suggest you read his profile, published by Physiotherapy New Zealand in their"100 years of Physiotherapy" in New Zealand webpage. This
archive sets out to preserve the legacy of physiotherapy in New Zealand by gathering together and cataloguing all the known resources. This was a brilliant initiative! Thank you!

💬 The addition of MWM (mobilization with movement) seems to encourage faster clinically meaningful improvement over exercise alone in the initial stages of ankle sprain management.

Interesting takeaway from a new study on ankle sprains. Robin Kerr reviewed it for the new April issue of the Physio Network Research Reviews 📲

"Topical Issues in Pain", authored by Louis Gifford, is a fantastic books collection that every physiotherapist should read. It considers challenging aspects of pain in practice and provides insights and approaches to management. In the Mulligan Concept, we consider the instant (and long lasting) pain free response, patients´ reassurance and collaboration, as well as their empowerment through self-management strategies as key aspects of the intervention. All this should be integrated in an adjusted narrative and in a context that can maximize the patient-therapist alliance, through appropriate communication strategies.
