Myth 2: Cracking your knuckles causes arthritis

The truth: It's just the release of gases.
There was this time I will crack my joints impulsively, will pause and wonder if this habit isn't causing more harm than good. I'm sure you've been here someways.
Your joints may creak, crack and pop, but those noises typically have nothing to do with your risk of arthritis -- usually, it's just the harmless release of gases from synovial fluid, the fluid that lubricates your joints.

If you have pain while cracking any joints though (or joint pain in general), it's worth getting checked out by a doctor, because you could have arthritis or another condition, such as tendinitis.

MYTH 1: You Shouldn’t Use Expired Medications

If you have a headache, but that bottle of ibuprofen expired six months ago, it turns out you can safely use it to treat your ailment.

That’s because “drug manufacturers are mandated by a 1979 law to stamp expiration dates on their bottles of medications,” says Dr. Tung. “This date represents the date at which the manufacturer will guarantee the full potency of the drug(potency simply put is the drug's activity in terms of effect produced). However, the actual shelf life of the medication may be much longer.

“A large study conducted by the FDA for the Department of Defense found that many medications are good for up to an average of five years and many even up to 15 years,” says Dr. Tung. “Notable exceptions to this include certain medications such as antibiotics or insulin. A good general rule of thumb is to adhere to the expiration date for medications where even a small difference in the dose matters. For the rest, it is likely safe for even up to a few years to take expired medications.”

So now you know, for most of the 'over the counter drugs' you can still administer, to help relief symptoms if there is no closest pharmacy to buy a drug. However getting a consult
for a current and proper prescription remains the basis of every good medical advice

Helloooooooo everyone, I bring you gracious greetings. I trust you are doing very well 😊

We live in a very versatile world, we are exposed to alot of information , but we really can't seem to access it. I'm particularly concerned about information that regards our health.

Did you know atleast everyone can give medical advice, you really don't need to be trained. The question here is, is what you are exposed to good or bad medical advice?.

I hope that with the collective effort of you and I, we will be able to debunk health myths that are otherwise subtle but can be damaging both psychologically and physically to individual and community health.

It is my wish that our believes on some issues about health be reshaped as we engage in this platform so together we can boldly say Health is wealth.

I'll be releasing an average of 2-3myths each day for us to share our ideas on.

Thank you.
