WHAT BIYA SAID ON YOUTH EMPLOYMENT AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN YOUTH DAY ADDRESS.

In the night of Tuesday 10 February 2026, 93-year old President Paul Biya addressed the Cameroonian youths in his traditional annual message ahead of the National Youth Day on February 11.

On what matters most to the young people,he affirmed government priorities outlining strategic commitments aimed at empowering young Cameroonians.He sought to connect the aspirations of young citizens with the broader goals of national development while responding to contemporary challenges facing the country’s youth population.

YOUTH EMPLOYMENT MEASURES

President Biya’s 2026 address centered on the acceleration of government action to tackle youth unemployment one of Cameroon’s most pressing socio‑economic concerns. Biya unveiled initiatives designed to foster job creation, including tax incentives for firms that hire young graduates, expanded educational opportunities, and efforts to improve linkages between the education system and labour market needs. He stressed the importance of offering young people both quality training and inclusive access to productive employment so they can “not only find jobs, but also create them"

PROMOTION OF SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION.

Addressing the difficulties faced by the Cameroonian youths,he also underscored the timeless relevance of skills acquisition and education in equipping youth to compete effectively in the modern economy. He emphasized governmental commitments to strengthen the educational system and support vocational pathways through investment in training programs that align with labour market demands.

The Home Care Services of Shalom Clinic on Sunday January 25 undertook a health campaign outreach to Mile 1 Upstation Bamenda Baptist Church

This outreach was part of our mission to bring quality, compassionate healthcare closer to families and individuals in our community. During the visit, our team educated church members on the benefits of professional home care services especially for:

✅ Patients with chronic illnesses
✅ Persons recovering from surgery or prolonged illness
✅ Individuals requiring long-term nursing care

Quality and Numbers: Shalom’s Vision for 2026

Mile 1 Upstation Bamenda -Shalom Clinic and University will in 2026 operate under Quality and numbers.The vision is to double the enrollment of students into the University and improve the quality of health care delivery at Shalom Clinic.

The vision was unveiled in an enlarged meeting coordinated by Deputy Director Wawa Jackson Nfor under the watchful eyes of the Board of Directors comprising of the Proprietor/Director ,Shei Claude Nfor PhD and the Chairman Mr Bongmba Fidelis Kigha

The meeting focused on strengthening service quality while responsibly expanding institutional capacity across both the health and higher education sectors. Participants reviewed achievements recorded in recent years and outlined concrete strategies to improve standards in teaching, healthcare delivery, research, and community service.

The vision bearer, Shei Claude Nfor PhD emphasized on improving patient care through better equipment, continuous staff training, adherence to medical ethics, and the integration of modern health practices. Management reaffirmed its commitment to making the clinic a reference point for quality, affordable, and patient-centered healthcare in the region.

On the academic front, he highlighted plans to enhance academic excellence at Shalom University. At the same time, the institution aims to increase student enrollment in a structured and sustainable manner, ensuring that growth does not compromise academic standards.

The meeting concluded with a call for teamwork, innovation, and discipline, as Shalom Clinic and University position themselves as leading institutions committed to excellence, impact, and sustainable development in 2026 and beyond.

At the close of the meeting, an announcement was made on the restructuring of the administrative organigram of both institutions to increase efficiency with appointments made as follows as follows ;
