Yesterday the 18th of July, in honor of Nelson Mandela day, Uplift Horizons, in partnership with Crystal global resources , Nkwa4change Solutions, Yalda - Cameroon, organized an inspiring session. This special event aimed to educate Cameroonian youths on essential leadership skills and the principles of good citizenship, drawing from the remarkable life and legacy of Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela was a beacon of leadership and resilience. Some of the key leadership skills and qualities he exemplified include:

𝟏. 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Mandela's unwavering courage in the face of adversity and his determination to fight for justice and equality are legendary.

𝟐. 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: He had a clear vision for a united, democratic South Africa and worked tirelessly to achieve it.

𝟑. 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: Despite his global stature, Mandela remained humble and grounded, always prioritizing the well-being of his people.

𝟒. 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: His ability to empathize with others, even his adversaries, was a cornerstone of his approach to leadership and reconciliation.

𝟓. 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: Mandela's perseverance through 27 years of imprisonment is a testament to his resilience and steadfast commitment to his principles.

During the session, participants engaged in discussions and activities designed to foster these leadership qualities, empowering them to become change-makers in their communities.

While some are born with an inborn conscience, for many, it is cultivated and nurtured through various experiences and forms of education.

Throughout life, we learn to listen to our conscience through experiences such as:
