Lewin's Sickle Cell Anemia Bone Marrow Transplant
I'm Nuibim Lewin, a 20-year-old with big dreams and an unbreakable spirit. Despite facing significant health challenges, I strive to stay positive and joyful every day.
I was born with Sickle Cell Anemia Type SS, the most severe form of this inherited blood disorder. It causes severe pain, organ damage, and a shorter life expectancy, necessitating constant medical care. In 2021, I was hospitalized weekly for the first four months and although my hospital visits have decreased this year, the struggle continues.
The only cure for my condition is a bone marrow transplant, which I can't afford on my own. Additionally, I need bilateral hip replacement surgery due to complications from the disease. These procedures could transform my life, freeing me from the constant pain and allowing me to live like most others do.
The cost of a bone marrow transplant is prohibitively high for us here in Cameroon to be able to afford. That's why I'm reaching out through this GoFundMe campaign. Your support, no matter the amount, will bring me closer to a pain-free future.
