A December Story People Don’t Talk About
On the 20th of December, people were busy preparing. Food everywhere. Meat on fire. Generator running. Music loud. Everyone happy.
In one compound, the generator was brought closer to the house because rain was coming. Doors were slightly closed. “It’s just for a while,” someone said.
Later that evening, the house went quiet.
When help arrived, two people were already weak. One was unconscious. Headache. Dizziness. Vomiting. They didn’t fight. They didn’t shout. They just slept and didn’t wake well.
It was not witchcraft.
It was not stress.
It was fumes.
Carbon monoxide has no smell. It doesn’t warn you. It just replaces oxygen quietly.
This season, many people will cook late, sleep tired, use generators, charcoal, gas. Be careful.
Never place generators near windows or doors.
Do not sleep in rooms with burning charcoal.
Ventilation saves lives.
December is not dangerous. Carelessness is.
Please protect yourself and those around you.
