🌍 World Cancer Day 2026 | United By Unique💙

On World Cancer Day, Optimum Health Global (OPHEG) was proud to partner with the Biaka University Institute of Buea - BUIB (Dr. BIAKA Memorial Foundation) and the BUEA Association USA for a powerful awareness event hosted at the BIAKA University Institute of Buea Campus.

Our Founder had the honor of serving as the first speaker of the day, delivering an impactful session on “Understanding Cancer and Breaking the Myths.”

Cancer remains one of the leading health challenges globally, yet misinformation, fear, and stigma continue to prevent many from seeking early help. During the session, key truths were highlighted:

🔹 Cancer is not a death sentence — early detection saves lives.
🔹 Not all cancers are hereditary — lifestyle and environmental factors also play major roles.
🔹 Regular screening is powerful — breast exams, cervical screening, prostate checks, Hepatitis B vaccination, and healthy living can significantly reduce risk.
🔹 Cancer is not contagious — compassion and support are critical for patients and survivors.

At OPHEG, we believe that awareness is prevention, and knowledge is power. By educating communities, encouraging screenings, and promoting healthier lifestyles, we can shift the narrative from fear to action.

World Cancer Day reminds us that every conversation matters, every test matters, and every life matters.

Together, through partnerships and community engagement, we continue our mission to promote health, inspire hope, and save lives.

🌍 OPHEG x Just Breathe Conference (JBC) 2026

Optimum Health Global (OPHEG) was proud to partner with the Just Breathe Conference (JBC) organized by DIBA and FAWOI, serving as the Official Medical Team for this impactful event, which lasted 2 days in Buea.

Our team provided over 150+ free medical tests, including screening for Hepatitis B, HIV, and Syphilis, alongside professional counseling services. Beyond testing, we created a safe space for awareness, early detection, and health education — reinforcing our commitment to preventive healthcare and community wellbeing.

We believe that access to health services should never be a barrier, and through collaborations like this, we continue to extend quality care to where it’s needed most.

A heartfelt appreciation to our incredible volunteers and staff from the OPHEG Buea Branch who showed up in their numbers, served with compassion, and demonstrated excellence throughout the conference. Your dedication truly made the difference.

Together, we are building healthier communities. 💙

ON GOING🚨🚨🎗️🚨🎗️

Still on Cervical Cancer News, we made a stop at the Saint John College where we had a session with students from form 1 - 4.

We are committed to bringing accessible health care to the door steps of community members and also bridging the knowledge gaps on health issues.

An experience we have gotten throughout the tour is that, most of these students lack knowledge about their Reproductive system - especially the girls. This is seen where the students kept asking matters about the general system.

NEW🚨🚨🚨
Cervical Cancer Awareness at BHS Kumba 💙

Our visit to Baptist High School Kumba (BHS) during the Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign was truly inspiring. We were reminded that education saves lives—the students’ curiosity, openness, and willingness to learn showed us the power of starting health conversations early.

Key lessons learned: awareness breaks fear, young people are eager to protect their health when given the right information, and schools are powerful spaces for prevention.

Action steps: continue health education in schools, encourage regular screening, promote HPV vaccination, and empower students to become ambassadors of cervical cancer prevention in their communities.

Together, we are building a healthier, informed generation. 💪🏽🌸

BREAKING🚨🚨🚨

As we move closer to the closure of the official campaign tour, we couldn't end without visiting the Biggest Government Secondary School in Kumba - the Cameroon College of Arts and Science - CCAS Kumba (CCAS Kumba Golden Jubilee).

This institution serves as a bedrock for many influential persons around the world. It is worthy to note that most of our volunteers and staff are products of this great institution and going back there with cervical cancer awareness was not just a visit - it was a giving back to the place where life all started from.

We are thankful to the school's administration for opening their doors for students and teachers to get informed of their health..

We are not stopping here, we are moving on...

🚨🚨🚨 NEW

Remember the Florence Nightingale Nurses Week Festival which was executed last year during the International Nurses Week on May 6th - 12th, in Kumba, Cameroon? Do you also remember that this event brought together over 500 - 700 nurses across Kumba and Buea to celebrate impact?

Of course this year we are coming back even stronger and better, improving and doubling our impact on all ends!

We are back again to begin effective planning ahead of the 2026, 2nd Edition. One of the challenges noted last year was insufficient time to properly plan and execute which brings us to the edge of beginning all preparations this year on time.

This Year's event, which will not only focus on nurses, aims at creating long lasting impact on nurses, other health workers, patients, community members and the nation as a whole.

🚨🚨🚨BREAKING 🚨🚨🚨

We are excited to announce that effective and strategic planning has begun ahead of the International Nurses and Midwives Week Festival - Second Edition, 2206.

It should be noted that this event is one of the initiatives and flagship programs coordinated by Optimum Health Global (OPHEG) which kick started last year in very high spirits.

The event, which brought together more than 500-700 nurses from across Southwest Region, Cameroon, from health institutions, health training schools, veteran nurses and midwives in one place - Kumba, Meme Division, to celebrate the Dignity, Nobility and Strength of nurses and midwives in the medical field.

The event was marked by a week-long activity touching various aspects and creating impact on the nurses and midwives, community members, health institutions and in Cameroon as a whole.

In this year's edition, it won't just be nurses and midwives, it is going to be more engaging as we hope to make the call open to health workers as a whole, reasons why preparations have kicked started this early to ensure maximum impact and utmost excellence.

The first meeting brought together General Supervisors from various hospitals in Kumba, Representatives from Health Schools in Kumba, Representatives from Organisations.
