🌱 At Global Impact Foundation (GIF), we believe that advancing environmental sustainability begins with equipping change-makers with the right knowledge and legal tools.

On July 25–26, GIF was represented at a transformative workshop hosted in Buea by FEDEV in partnership with ELAW and Back to Eden. Themed:
“Plastic Pollution Laws and Policies, the Global Plastic Treaty Process for CSOs in Cameroon,”
the workshop brought together civil society organizations from across the Southwest Region to explore national and global legal frameworks combating plastic pollution.

Participants received valuable legal resources including:
✔️ Cameroon’s 1996 Constitution
✔️ Compendium of Environmental Legal Instruments
✔️ National Strategy to Combat Plastic Pollution

GIF proudly participated, deepening our commitment to advocating for legally sound and sustainable environmental practices. We also appreciated the chance to connect with other like-minded organizations and policymakers.

"Today, we celebrated the Day of the African Child with the nation of Cameroon! 🌟

As an active member of the Fako Alliance for Social Care (FASC), Global Impact Foundation (GIF) was proud to join forces with our fellow members, the Limbe City Council, and the Divisional Delegation of Social Affairs for Fako (MINAS) to commemorate this special day.

Under the theme "Planning and budgeting for children's rights: Progress since 2010," we reflected on our collective progress and the work still ahead in promoting child welfare. This celebration was a testament to our shared commitment to protecting and empowering the children of Fako.

As we celebrated with the children, we were reminded that they are the future leaders of our beloved Cameroon and Africa. Let's continue to work together to ensure their well-being, education, and protection.

We're grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with our partners and look forward to continuing our work together to create a brighter future for the children of Fako and it's environs !

*Youth + Ballot = Power: Why African Youth Must Show Up*

Africa is young. Powerful. Connected.
Yet, millions of youth across the continent don’t vote or participate in civic processes. Why? Because many feel disillusioned, disconnected, or disempowered.

But here’s the truth: when you step back, power doesn’t disappear—it just shifts.

3 Reasons Why Your Vote (and Voice) Matters:

1. Demographics = Power
Youth make up over 60% of Africa’s population. That’s not just a stat—it’s a force. When young people unite around ideas and action, they shape elections and policies.

2. Local Actions Matter Most
Civic engagement isn’t just voting every 4-5 years. It’s joining school boards, starting community initiatives, speaking at town halls, and holding leaders accountable.

3. Silence Is a Statement
Not voting or engaging sends a message too. It says, “I don’t care what happens next.” But you do care. You care about education, jobs, security, justice. So let your civic action reflect that.

🏍️ We reached out to our bike riders and food vendors, sharing practical waste management solutions for a cleaner Limbe:
• Waste sorting techniques
• Proper bagging methods
• Smart disposal practices

This grassroots campaign marks just the beginning of our commitment to "Volunteer Now for Our Future." Together with Fako Division authorities, we're building a cleaner, more sustainable Limbe - one community at a time! 💚

🧠✨ **Fostering Mental Health Awareness Among Youth** ✨🧠

This week, the Global Impact Foundation engaged in impactful activities through our Global Citizenship Education (GCED) club at several private schools in Limbe. In collaboration with the Lifafa Research and Counselling Foundation, our focus was on promoting mental health among students and teenagers.

Our partnership with experienced guidance counselors and clinical psychologists enabled us to provide effective counseling sessions tailored to the unique challenges faced by today’s youth.

Mental health is just as crucial as physical health, especially during the formative years of secondary school. Ongoing support and follow-up are essential for helping students navigate stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges.

Together, we can create a supportive environment that encourages open conversations about mental wellness. Let’s empower our youth to prioritize their mental health and seek help when needed!

We're thrilled to share that our recent health talks at the Humanitarian Health Centre (HHC) of the Global Impact Foundation (GIF) have made a significant impact in the Bonadikombo Mile 4 Limbe community!

Our team engaged with local residents on vital topics like diabetes and hypertension, offering essential health education and resources. We also provided free blood pressure checks and sugar level tests for elderly community members at a subsidized rate.

These efforts reflect our core values of compassion and service to those in need. We believe that by empowering our community with knowledge and resources, we can foster a healthier future for everyone.

Our dedicated medical team provided free blood pressure measurements and sugar level tests at a subsidized rate for elderly residents.

The 2nd Edition of the Impact Show by Global Impact Foundation (GIF) was a resounding success! 🎉 Held on September 29th, 2024, the event focused on "Charting Your Course: Navigating the Transition from Campus to Career."
Young people, mostly university and high school students, gathered to learn invaluable lessons on making the most of campus life, choosing the right career paths aligned with their passions and strengths, and becoming job-ready upon graduation.
They were introduced to the concept of "learnacy" - the importance of personal development and lifelong learning, essential for 21st-century professionals. An engaging exercise also guided these youths towards purpose discovery and career clarity.
By the end of the program, every participant left feeling satisfied and empowered. It was truly fulfilling to see my fellow youth being equipped with the tools for success.
This is how I choose to spend my free time and resources - empowering young people and working towards sustainable community development. 💪
Together, we're paving the way for the next generation to thrive!
