The Public Health Entrepreneurial Centre of Excellence (PHECE), together with its partners, provides a package of skills for you.

Skills include:
- Mental Health & Psychosocial Support counselling and communication skills
- Community case follow-up
- Hygiene and sanitation
- Field data collection
- Community engagement and mobilization

Venue: Experiential Higher Institute of Science and Technology (EXHIST), Carrefour Biyem-Assi, Yaoundé - a partner institution to PHECE.

PHECE has elaborated a guide for parents and caretakers on MHPSS in the Cameroon context. This guide helps adults understand how stress, trauma, and uncertainty affect children at different ages. Many parents may notice changes in behaviour—such as withdrawal, aggression, sleep problems, or regression—but may not know what these signs mean or how to respond. The guide translates complex psychological concepts into simple, actionable steps, empowering caregivers to identify early warning signs and provide appropriate support before challenges escalate.
Another key value of this guide is that it strengthens the caregiver’s own wellbeing. Parents under pressure often struggle to manage their emotions, which can unintentionally affect the children in their care. It offers strategies for self care, stress management, and emotional regulation, helping adults remain calm, patient, and responsive. When caregivers feel supported and confident, children benefit directly from the stability and reassurance they provide.

PHECE a élaboré un guide à l'intention des parents et des personnes qui s'occupent d'enfants.
Ce guide a pour objectif de fournir aux parents et aux personnes en charge les connaissances, la confiance et les outils nécessaires pour soutenir le bien-être des enfants de manière informée et bienveillante. Il propose des explications claires, des conseils pratiques et des approches adaptées à l’âge pour communiquer avec les enfants, reconnaître les signes de détresse et répondre à leurs besoins.
Il offre également des orientations sur la prise en charge de soi en tant que parent ou personne en charge, car le bien-être de l’adulte influence directement la qualité du soutien apporté à l’enfant.
Ce guide se veut à la fois un rappel, une source de motivation et un outil de connexion. Il vise à encourager les discussions au sein des foyers, notamment autour de thèmes souvent considérés comme tabous, et peut servir de liste de vérification pour les parents déjà engagés dans ces pratiques.
