Today, FIIO has begun teasing its latest high-end dongle, the QX13 in China. Some users may be confused by the model number. This change is part of FIIO's effort to communicate product positioning more clearly to users through model numbers and names, so adjustments have been made to the model numbers and names. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify FIIO's future plans for its portable audio player product line.
First, a new high-end dongle has been added, named QX. The QX series, as FIIO's high-end dongle, is primarily designed for audiophiles, with sound quality as the top priority, and emphasizes high performance and professional tuning capabilities. Currently, three models are planned:
QX11, positioned similarly to the KA17. Therefore, the future upgraded model of the KA17 will become the QX11.
QX13, positioned one tier above the KA17. If the naming convention remains unchanged, it should have been named KA19.
QX15, currently positioned as the flagship of the QX series. This is also the primary reason for the naming change, as in FIIO's product lineup, “9” represents the highest positioning, and if the KA series naming convention were maintained, there would be no room for it.
The QX series prioritizes sound quality above all else, so there will be compromises in terms of cost, size, power consumption, and user experience. It is more suitable for users who have high demands on sound quality, extensive experience with audio products, and a higher budget.
Second, the existing KA series remains unchanged. It will strive for a balanced approach in terms of performance, functionality, size, power consumption, and cost. Current products will continue to be iterated and upgraded normally.
Third, the JA series is primarily targeted at mass consumers, such as users who require wired headphones, as current wireless headphones still cannot meet the needs of all users in terms of latency and sound quality.
The JA series is designed for mass consumers, so the product design prioritizes simplicity, plug-and-play functionality, and no special features or designs, while also offering the lowest price, which aligns with the needs of the target users.
Four, the SNOWSKY series is primarily targeted at users seeking personalized aesthetics. It emphasizes unique design and provides emotional value. The products will be more fashionable and distinctive.
The SNOWSKY series will have its own names and will not use English letters plus numbers for model numbers.
Additionally, the Q series has been discontinued, and the QX series has no relation to the Q series.
