What is the correct procedure for eye drops?
1. Open the lid and squeeze out a drop first. 2. Tilt your head up, open the lower eyelid with your fingers, expose the conjunctiva of the fornix, turn the eyeball upward, and drop the eye drops into the lower conjunctival fornix. 3. When you close your eyes, slightly lift your lower eyelid out. 4. After closing your eyes, press down the lacrimal point, that is, the inner canthus. At the same time, you can move your eyes. Hold for a minute or two. The volume of an eye drop is larger than the volume of the conjunctival sac, and it is easy to overflow, so the lower eyelid is slightly lifted when the eye is closed after the drop. After eye drops, only about 10% of the drug enters the eye, and most of the rest enter the lacrimal duct to the nasal cavity through the lacrimal punctum, so the lacrimal punctum should be pressed after the drop to reduce the loss of the drug from the lacrimal duct and also reduce the drug entering the nasal cavity.
