On October 30, 2025, during the APEC 2025 CEO Summit, Kevin Xu, Chairman of the Board of MEBO Group, was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled "Global Cooperation for Better Digital Healthcare." In his address, Xu emphasized that the core of digital healthcare lies in the collection and aggregation of real-world data. He called for cross-economy collaboration to build an interconnected, inclusive, and sustainable dynamic digital healthcare ecosystem.
Xu pointed out, "Trustworthy, actionable, and practice-derived data is the lifeline of digital healthcare development." He stressed that true innovation begins with practice, and only a digital ecosystem built on a solid data foundation can achieve dynamic learning, precise adaptation, and continuous optimization.
Drawing on MEBO's experience in the APEC region, Xu highlighted how the group has integrated cutting-edge technology with local medical expertise through trauma rescue and regenerative medicine training. This approach has not only enhanced the emergency response capabilities of grassroots medical institutions but has also laid the groundwork for a digital assessment and diagnostic framework. He specifically mentioned the regenerative medical technology pioneered by Professor Xu Rongxiang, which has provided accessible and effective solutions for the long-neglected field of wound management. This initiative has explored an inclusive development path that simultaneously advances technology dissemination and local capacity building.
Addressing the diversity in resources, standards, and cultures across APEC economies, Xu emphasized the importance of striking a balance between unified norms and local adaptation. Citing the example of the 2023 APEC Briefing on Burn Prevention and Treatment, he noted that artificial intelligence and digital tools can enable standardized control of medical quality while respecting local conditions, thereby achieving the goal of "harmony in diversity" in ecosystem development.
Looking ahead, Xu proposed three key areas for collaboration: innovating business models to achieve a win-win scenario for growth and social responsibility; proactively addressing the health challenges posed by the climate crisis; and integrating global humanitarian platforms to create synergies. He also highlighted the "Silver Healing- Equitable Community Wound Care" initiative launched in partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative. This program aims to cover multiple low- and middle-income communities in the coming years, leveraging regenerative medicine technology, standardized training, and multilateral cooperation to provide better wound care services, particularly for the elderly.
Xu concluded by stating that development becomes sustainable only when business innovation aligns with social value and when scientific research meets community needs. "We are not just healing wounds; we are building trust, enhancing resilience, and fostering shared prosperity." His speech provided a practical roadmap for APEC to advance digital health cooperation.
Over the past three years, from San Francisco, USA, to Lima, Peru, and Gyeongju, South Korea, as the Former Co-Chair of the APEC Host Committee, Xu has consistently contributed systematic insights and practical proposals in the fields of Asia-Pacific economic and trade cooperation and global health governance. Moving forward, he will continue to leverage platforms such as APEC to extend the bridge of collaboration to broader domains, connecting more diverse stakeholders to jointly envision a more inclusive, resilient, and vibrant development landscape for the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
