A way to embrace your inner wisdom! 🫶🏼

Each human has an inner clock - the circadian rhythm - which regulates and coordinates a wide range of biological processes and behaviors within the body, including sleep patterns, hormone secretion, body temperature and metabolism. This clock works in alignment with the 24-hour day-night cycle 🌞🌙

Women have a second internal clock: the menstrual cycle. We can choose to ignore it & ultimately work against ourselves, which most likely will make us feel out of touch with ourselves, low in energy and simply unwell… 😵‍💫 OR we can choose to understand it, work with it & use it as a tool to unlock our true potential! 🗝️

1️⃣ The first step is to understand the different phases - which is what this post is all about

The menstrual cycle should not be a mystery or tabu topic! 🚫 Openly talking about it can empower each of us to harness its influence on energy, mood and productivity, ultimately fostering a healthy & more fulfilling life

The menstrual cycle is made out of 4 phases 🔄

Each phase holds unique insights, strengths and opportunities! Whether it’s the refreshing new beginnings of the follicular phase, the vibrant energy of ovulation, the nurturing energy of the luteal phase, or the gentle embrace of menstruation, each phase offers a chance for personal growth and self-discovery.

Story Time: without wanting to show off (that’s not why I am on here 😆) this is the pose I am most proudest of. Why? Before I was able to actually hold the pose I thought I’d never find the strength and body control required to hold this pose safely and successfully. I’m not lying when I said I wanted to be able to manage this pose for over 10 years before I finally did manage it.

It was a rocky road which felt like it had way more downs than ups lol (which felt really frustrating) and it wasn’t until the last years that I saw a major difference and shift in my personal practice.

The shift happened when I finally stayed consistent. The key is to not invest 200% only a few days and then stop because you’re exhausted and start over again weeks after. ❌

I’ve said it again and I will say it again: consistency > perfection

And this is true not only for our physical practice.

Stop waiting for the new year to start chasing your goals. Start now. Start small.

Set big goals.
Break them down.
Improve your skills by investing time to actually learn the necessary steps!!
Incorporate the baby steps into your daily life in a way you can stick to it consistently.
And watch yourself turn your goals into reality.

“Consistency is more important than perfection”

Some days my handstand practice is smooth, fun and easy. Other days it’s a struggle, feels clumsy and disconnected.

But when I look at the months rather than single days, the progress line is going up.

Success is not measured by specific days, but over a period of time. And consistency is what gets us there.

Showing up a little frequently, rather than giving 1000% only once in a while is how we achieve things that last - and this is not only true for your handstand practice ;)
