A LOT OF REIKI MYTHS/MISUNDERSTANDINGS
ORIGEN
Reiki myth #.... "Reiki is a Religion".
The method called Reiki is not a religion, nor is it based on any religious doctrine or dogma. It is based on universal laws and specific techniques of spiritual healing.
Reiki myth #.... “The founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui, was a Christian Monk”,
The founder of the Usui System of Reiki, Dr. Mikao (Mikaomi) Usui, was not a monk, a Christian, or a medical doctor. He was a Japanese Zen Buddhist, a businessman and scholar. Late in his life, he experienced a profound spiritual enlightenment after a period of fasting and meditation. Afterwards he began the process of developing the healing art of Reiki and opened a teaching clinic in Kyoto, Japan. He is buried in a Buddhist graveyard.
Reiki myth #.... “Reiki is a Buddhist healing practice”
What is given in a Reiki seminar has nothing to do with a Buddhist healing system. It was a system which Mikao Usui created after having experienced the vision on mount Kuriyama.
Reiki myth: # "Jesus used Reiki to perform his healing miracles" While the word Reiki means “Universal Energy” it doesn’t imply that Jesus used a Reiki technique. Out of the Universal Energy sprang forth different systems, which have another approach as the healing practice of Reiki.
PRACTICE
Reiki-myth # "The hands of the Reiki-practitioner became warmer, because he/she was channeling energy".
• Firstly: The Reiki-practitioner is NOT channeling or radiating energy.
Answer: She/He is awakening your body and mind- energy acording to
your SURRENDER/ FAITH towards the Divine Consciousness within.*
* Thus the Reiki-practitioner is in reality fulfilling the principal part that the
pastors of Christian Churches have to fulfill. That's why those churches
are considering the Reiki practitioners as devilish.
• Secondly: If your hand has become warmer during a treatment, this is indicating that you as a Reiki practitioner are /was relaxed. For more than hundred years it has been found that when you are relaxed, your hands
and your whole body are warmer than usual. In scientific relaxation
sessions, a mini-thermometer is sometimes used to determine whether
the client is indeed relaxed.
Reiki myth #.... "Reiki will only be accepted if the individual' s '
Higher Self permits it".
This is reversing the Truth. It’s also so that there is no difference between your Higher Self and Universal Energy/Reiki.
One Great Healer, Jesus the Christ, said always after a healing moment "Your faith has saved you".
What is faith? Faith is your degree of openness towards the Higher Self/ Universal Energy/Reiki. Your non-openness towards the Higher Self blocks the process of healing.
Reiki myth # …. "You may not send Reiki to a person without having got his/her consent".
My unraveling of this myth follows now, but I am glad that the different religions don't have this view concerning praying for another person. Reiki must be as praying, it must not be as putting the person in a prison or cage. Its loving attention: Higher Self in me feeling one with higher Self in the other.
YES, ITS OKAY TO PRAY/SEND REIKI WITHOUT HAVING PERMISSION
They will be giving permission unconsciously or not. Reiki in the same way as prayer is not a system to violate someone's free will and it’s not a system to interfere with one’s rights or with someone’s karma.
But if still you are having an ethical problem about this, ask Divine Consciousness within for guidance OR SAY “I do this of attuning to …….. (name) out of love and not to intrude the privacy of this person”.
Gurdjieff has built up a psychology wherein he says that we don’t have one ego.
We have many egos, which are contradicting each other within the certain personality. Perhaps there are different egos which will welcome Reiki, while others will not accept it. It depends of which ego is activated at the moment.
Reiki distant healing begins with imagining the person to be healed. Next, permission is asked of the receiver for the healing, the same principle that is used with the laying on of hands.
If the practitioner is unsure of the answer, then Reiki can be sent with the proviso that if the designee does not desire the energy it will go to anyone who desires it. When permission is granted, or the proviso made, the practitioner imagines light in and around the receiver.
I would say that we should do that only in occasions when we have to ask permission to radiate love to each other"!!!
Love and Reiki/ Universal Energy are far beyond personality-stuff.
A stupid question needs a stupid answer!!!
NO, ITS NOT OKAY TO GIVE REIKI WITHOUT HAVING GOT PERMISSION OF THE PERSON
If you say no, you are contradicting even your religious principles or your spiritual philosophy
NOTES:
There are those who can’t ask (persons in a coma, people in an ambulance, persons dying), I usually ask the Universal Energy for permission to send it. Sometimes when a person comes into my awareness, it is my belief that they are in my consciousness for a reason. So I stop, say a positive affirmation, and send Reiki. I also send Reiki when I see reports of disasters on the news, when I pass an ambulance, or I see an accident on the road. I also send Reiki to Mother Earth to thank her and help her heal. I also send Reiki to Dr. Usui, Dr. Hayashi, and Mrs. Takata to thank them for bringing Reiki to us.
Reiki myth # .... "Reiki/Universal Energy knows where to go within your body".
Universal Energy/Divine Energy/Reiki is everywhere-ness. It does not go from here to there. We, anchored in time and space- limitation of energy, have the notion of energy flowing from here to there. Otherwise said: Universal Energy/Divine Energy is everywhere present in your body, but based on the error factors of personality we feel this was so and so first and now I feel so and so.
Reiki myth #.... "The Reiki-practitioner is channeling Universal Energy towards you".
The Reiki-practitioner is not channeling Divine Energy within you and neither is he/she awakening Universal Energy within you. How is it possible to awaken Divine Energy? How is it possible to awaken First Cause? The Reiki-practitioner (First degree/Second degree or Reiki master) is awakening your body and mind-energy towards the Divine Consciousness within.
Reiki myth # ….A Reiki practitioner will balance the flow of energy in a person (or animal), restoring an energetic balance that enables the body to begin healing itself.
IT MUST SAY:
A Reiki practitioner will guide the personality or animal towards Reiki so to have a balance of energy.
The Reiki-practltionar has the psychological training to guide the client to total surrender towards Universal Consciousness. The Reiki-practitioner is the guide and facilitator, BUT the process of healing is according to the Faith OF THE CLIENT.
Reiki myth # …: "Giving Reiki to others depletes your own Energy"
As we said here above, the Reiki practitioner does not transmit his personal energy to the client and neither (s)he serves as a channel, funneling Universal Life Energy through his body to the recipient.
Ki/Energy is infinite and never will run out. This does not mean that a person giving Reiki may not feel tired after giving a treatment to someone. This sometimes happens and Reiki has been wrongly blamed for it. If a person giving a treatment experiences exhaustion during or after applying Reiki to
others, this can indicate that the person getting the treatment has more troubles but it can indicate also that something is out-of-balance in his own
body or life that needs attention. Booking a healing session for himself with another practitioner or conducting self-treatments would be necessary.
Reiki myth #..... "Reiki can do no harm
Reiki itself can do no harm. How a healing technique can cause harm. Reiki works with the conduction system of the human body, BUT in case of a First Degree Reiki person you have not all the knowledge about healing. You are an apprentice. That's why I repeat: REMEMBER THAT IN THE FIRST DEGREE YOU ARE NOT YET A PRACTITIONER, YOU MAY GIVE TREATMENT TO OTHERS BUT YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION TO GUIDE A PERSON, WHO IS IN TREMENDOUS NEED TO A NEXT LEVEL OF HEALING. FOR THAT YOU NEED THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE SECOND REIKI DEGREE, THE DEGREE OF OKUDEN.
Not for nothing Reiki is used in different medical offices and hospitals all over the USA as part of an integrative therapy approach. Boston area hospitals that offer reiki as part of their programs include: Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana Farber and Brigham and Women’s. Nurses are also able to get CEUs. So you see reiki itself, has become a viable treatment options for many within the medical community.
A study done in 2007 by the National Health Interview Survey indicates that 1.2 million adults and 161,000 children received one or more sessions of energy healing therapy such as Reiki in the previous year. According to the American Hospital Association, in 2007, 15% or over 800 American hospitals offered Reiki as part of hospital services.
INITIATION
Reiki myth #.... "A Reiki Initiation is permanent - it can never be un done". To explain that this is a myth, an untruth, we have to analyze wherein lies the power of any initiation.
It does not matter if it regards a tribal initiation, an initiation of any world religion or of a mystical school.
Initiations are of three different categories:
1. the acceptance of the candidate in a certain ritualistic system;
2. the advancement towards a higher degree based on one's dedication to the system;
3. the highest degree is conferred only to one who lives according to all principles of the organization/system..
Rei-ki means Universal/Divine/First Cause-Energy. And this Energy is within you since your birth. It is not an energy transmitted by a priest, a masonic officer, a shaman or a Reiki-master, but your mind is awakened towards the Divine Consciousness by you yourself, eventually with the aid of a facilitator.
So the purpose of any of the three Reiki-initiations is to enable each one to gain greater awareness of his/her spiritual nature. The power of any initiation can be lessened or fortified through your own FREE WILL
Reiki myth #... Distant Initiation
Distant Initiation is introducing fake in Reiki based on money business.
It is the nephew of the kind of prayer, which is not leading to "communion with God". Feeling oneness with God is not so easy, but it’s a must to progress in spirituality
WRONG EXPLANATION OF PARANORMAL REIKI-EXPERIENCES
Reiki myth #... The vision that I was present in the house of the patient during distant Reiki-session OR that I and the 4 Grand
Masters of Usui Shiki Ryoho were present during your session of auto-treatment.
While there is the possibility that sometimes I can be present there with my astral body, I consider that the elevation of consciousness of the client can lead to the effect that he/she will see the practitioner giving the Reiki-
treatment based on his/her train-of-images/visualization* produced through combined feelings of expectation, affinity and surrender towards Divine
Consciousness. This all will remove all kinds of stumbling blocks, also the space-time effect.
*Any thinking process consists of a train of images. When the thinking process is fueled by love and expectancy, we go beyond time and space. We settle ourselves in oneness with Reiki/ Divine Consciousness and will have experiences of seeing someone or something as in a dream or vision.
