Διόρθωση εκτροπιου κάτω βλέφαρου ,σε ασθενή με παράλυση του προσωπικού νεύρου . Ένας μήνας μετά . Προσήλθε σήμερα για διόρθωση της πτώσης του φρυδιού δεξιά . Τα αποτελέσματα θα ακολουθήσουν . Glomus tumor!The glomus tumor is a rare ,benign tumor of the finger, that causes severe pain . Usually is found under the nail and erodes the bone of the distal phalanx. The tumor is diagnosed clinically by immersing the finger in cold water . This will exacerbate the pain and is very characteristic of the glomus tumor . Also is very painful in palpation . Usually it takes a lot of time for the patient, to get the correct diagnosis and many visits in doctors of different specialties until he or she finds the right surgeon to treat this condition . This tumor is not known among doctors and is very small 2,3 mm ,so is not visible during clinical examination.
This interesting surgery was performed last week under local anesthesia . The symptoms were alleviated after the excision of the tumor

Πτώση βλεφάρου ή βλέφαροχαλαση.
Δύο έννοιες που συχνά συγχέονται . Η πραγματική πτώση βλέφαρου είναι ιατρική πάθηση στην οποία το βλέφαρο καλύπτει μέρος της κόρης με συνέπεια να επηρεάζεται η όραση . Συνήθως οφείλεται σε πάθηση του ανελκτηρα μυ του βλεφάρου ( levator aponeurosis dehisence ),μπορεί να υπάρχουν νευρολογικά αίτια ή ακόμη και να είναι συγγενής .Πρεπει να γίνει χειρουργική επέμβαση και πολλές φορές η πλήρης διόρθωση είναι πολύ δύσκολη . Η βλεφαροχαλαση συμβαίνει με την γήρανση ,υπάρχει χαλάρωση του δερματος και του μυ (orbicularis)χωρίς να επηρεάζει την όραση ,προκαλώντας όμως ένα αίσθημα κόπωσης στα μάτια . Διορθώνεται με την βλεφαροπλαστική . Μερικές φορές οι δύο αυτές οντότητες συνυπαρχουν και πρέπει να διορθωθούν ταυτόχρονα με την κατάλληλη χειρουργική τεχνική . Στην φωτογραφία η ασθενής μας χειρουργήθηκε πριν ένα μήνα για πτώση του βλεφάρου, που επηρέαζε σε μεγάλο βαθμό την όραση .(obstruction of visual fields ) Μετά το χειρουργείο η όραση αποκαταστάθηκε πλήρως .
