Join us for the second edition of our dreamscape gathering where Afrofuturism, Transfuturism, and CimarronxFuturism merge.
This is a place to imagine, create, and collaborate -a space where we dream new / alternative / anti worlds into being.
This event was created because we believe in the endless possibilities of dreaming together. In a world that often tries to erase us, we need spaces where we and our, radical imaginations, and visions can thrive.
In this week long event there will be a curated mix of workshops, and possibilities for creative: forums, discussions, and collaborative activities as well as places of collective rest. The Black Imaginination is the central theme for the days. In order to create our own dreamscapes as well as ways to dream together.
It’s open for Black, African, Afro
descendant, Afrodiasporan, Cimarronxs, Marrronxs who are also Q***r, Trans, Inter or gender dissidents.
The cleaning and cooking will be divided into shifts during the space.
A sliding scale donation is asked for food and accommodation to cover expenses. But if you need support to attend please message us using this form.Max 15 participants

Library Gathering: Class Struggle & Labour Rights
Thursday, May 14th 6-9pm

We will gather this May around class struggles, labor rights and collectivism for a cozy evening of collective reading & conversation. We will read aloud together from ‘Black Marxism: The Making of the Black Radical Tradition’ (Cedric J. Robinson) and ‘Transgender Marxism’ (ed. Jules Joanne Gleeson and Elle O’Rourke), then discuss.

We welcome any other readings that you wish to bring or pick from our library catalogue, focusing on topics of solidarity, racial capitalism, gender liberation, etc., and how these ideas meet the current political climate we are facing.

There will be some baked goods to share, you are welcome to bring something as well!
Come listen, read, share thoughts, or just be there.

Lohana Berkins Library
May Open Hours:
Monday 04.05, 2 - 6pm
Thursday 21.05, 2 - 6pm

We will have Open Hours from 14:00 - 18:00 on Monday the 4th and Thursday 21st, when you can drop in to read books, drink tea, and chat with other bookworms. You can also become a library member and sign out a book to read at home.

Also during library hours, between 3 - 5pm, we’ll have a bureaucracy table, where we can tackle our bureaucratic tasks in a collective setting where they have less power to overwhelm us. Please note that this is a peer-to-peer space created by whoever happens to attend on a given day. There are no experts present to help with tasks, but others attending may have some info/guidance to offer, or people maybe decide to team up and take turns tackling each person’s tasks as a group (or find any number of other creative strategies!).

Please note that the library days and hours differ from month to month, so be sure to check again for next month’s Open Hours.
No appointment needed. Email books@casa-kua.com if you have any questions.

The NADA protocol is a standardized form of acupuncture involving five ear points, administered in a specific setting. It has proven to be an effective treatment for individuals experiencing stress, trauma, or a wide range of mental health conditions.
NADA involves the gentle placement of up to five small, sterilized, disposable needles at specific points on each ear. Participants sit quietly in a group setting for 30-45 minutes and allow the treatment to take effect.
The NADA protocol was developed in the 1970s in New York’s South Bronx by members of the Black Panther Party and the Young Lords to address addiction within
Black and Puerto Rican communities.
Treatment using the NADA protocol can support people who:
want to better cope with daily stress suffer from stress or burnout symptoms are dealing with traumatic experiences experience restlessness or sleep disorders are managing chronic pain
are struggling with addiction or substance use (alcohol and or drugs)
are living with mental illness experience hyperactivity or eating disorderswant to stop smoking
There are no known medical contraindications. NADA is a non-verbal treatment method, meaning participants do not need to speak or share anything unless they choose to.
We offer NADA sessions on Mondays at 18:00 for Q***r
BIPOC, and on Thursdays at 18:00 for Q***r BIPoC and all Trans, Inter, and Nonbinary people.
Please check our Telegram channel or Instagram for the current monthly schedule.

💬 Coming Out 💬

For our next gathering, we’re keeping it cozy and inviting you to a conversation circle.
We’ll be discussing how we navigate coming out in work, school, and other cisnormative and/or heteronormative environments, and what we do when the choice to come out is no longer ours. Undergoing medical transition can make our transness visible in ways that force conversations we are not always willing or ready to have, so let’s talk about navigating this together, the challenges, conversational methods, fears, and logistics.
After the discussion, there will be some time to share our thoughts and feelings about the topic or simply hang out together.
Let’s spend a soft and relaxed evening together. We’ll have plenty of vegan snacks, and you’re welcome to bring something too.
✨ Tuesday, May 5, from 7-9pm in Casa Kuà✨
Looking forward to seeing you 💕

Ju1cy July
July 25-31

Join us for a week of k1nky workshops and skillshares, steamy pl4y sessions and sun-soaked seaside picnics. We will be a q***r group of 20-25 people, centering TIN and BIPOC communities.
This space will prioritize those who already have a relationship to k1nk & 8DSM, but curious and adventurous first-timers are also welcomed to apply. We will share skills, explore desires, and create spaces of play and connection together.

It will be a Do-It-Together space where cooking, cleaning, and other shared responsibilities will be distributed collectively, responding to the needs of the group as they arise. Participants are also invited to offer workshops, facilitate discussions and meetups, and suggest group activities. The space will be what we make it!

There are shared sleeping rooms, mostly with bunk beds, as well as multiple indoor common areas and wide outdoor spaces
The entire ground floor is wheelchair accessible.
If you have questions or specific accessibility needs, please reach out.

📝 Complete the sign-up form in our BIO by Sunday May 25, and we will confirm your participation by the first week of June.

Rooted in Darkness, Held By the Stars - Rooting the body, Awakening Intuition
Tuesday, 28.04. 6pm - 8.30pm

A space to reconnect with your inner depth and discover the strength within it. Through movement, free writing, and intuitive painting, we explore what it means to own your inner darkness—not as something to overcome, but as a source of trust, presence, and power.

This is a body-based experience: arriving in the body, grounding, and feeling. Held in community, we create a space where you can express, release, and root yourself more deeply—supported by both yourself and others.

This workshop is for Q***r BIPoC
Where comfy clothes and bring a journal or notebook if you have one.

is a q***r Black Afro-German performance artist, bodywitch, child of waters and thresholds. My life’s intention right now is to feel through the despair, rage, Pleasure and aliveness of these times in order to co-create new ways, new realms, new truths beyond the binaries. Through body, voice, and collective presence, I co-create intentional spaces where transformation, mystery, and intuition can unfold—gently, honestly, and in connection to body, the land, visible and invisible communities.
