Invitation to Gardening Day at CASA KUÀ

📍 CASA KUÀ Garden, Karpfenteichstraße 13, 12435 Berlin (Plänterwald) monday 8 September 15 to 18h 🌺

You’re warmly invited to a gardening day!
We’ll start the afternoon together with tea, water, light snacks, and maybe something you bring along—spending about an hour connecting, chatting, and enjoying each other’s company.

After that, we’ll spend 2–3 hours in the beautiful CASA KUÀ garden: trimming, tidying, and preparing for the cooler months ahead, all while enjoying time together in nature.

Feel free to bring some food if you like, small snacks are provided too.

We’re looking forward to a warm, lovely afternoon with everyone! 🌱✨

A monthly anti-psychiatric group in Casa Kua.
The group is open, free of charge and explicitly for trans*/inter*/non-binary/q***r people affected by psychiatry.
Many of us face psychiatric violence over and over again.
There are hardly any offers to talk about one’s own experiences, feelings and traumatising experiences in psychiatry. Especially without having to be exposed to new psychiatric pressure. We want to offer a space for our community to exchange. We meet once a month on Wednesdays between 6 and 8 pm.
We welcome registrations in advance by email at:
antipsychiatricgroup@riseup.net
but this is not a prerequisite to participate.
The group is hosted by Echo (middle class, post-east-migrant, white, German passport, careleaver, non-binary, trans,) and Jamila (middle class, Afro-Austrian,
EU passport, genderfluid, non-binary).
They partially don’t have lived experience and partially have negative experiences with involuntary psychiatric treatment or psychiatric violence while transitioning.

The NADA protocol is a standardized form of acupuncture involving five ear points, administered in a specific setting. It has proven to be an effective treatment for individuals experiencing stress, trauma, or a wide range of mental health conditions.
NADA involves the gentle placement of up to five small, sterilized, disposable needles at specific points on each ear. Participants sit quietly in a group setting for
30-45 minutes and allow the treatment to take effect.
The NADA protocol was developed in the 1970s in New York’s South Bronx by members of the Black Panther Party and the Young Lords to address addiction within
Black and Puerto Rican communities.
Treatment using the NADA protocol can support people who:
want to better cope with daily stress
suffer from stress or burnout symptoms
are dealing with traumatic experiences
experience restlessness or sleep disorders
are managing chronic pain
are struggling with addiction or substance use (alcohol and/or drugs)
are living with mental illness
experience hyperactivity or eating disorderswant to stop smoking
There are no known medical contraindications. NADA is a non-verbal treatment method, meaning participants do not need to speak or share anything unless they choose to.
We offer NADA sessions on Mondays at 18:00 for Q***r BIPoC, and on Thursdays at 18:00 for Q***r BIPoC and all Trans, Inter, and Nonbinary people.
Please check our Telegram channel or Instagram for the current monthly schedule.

✨T-Talk ✨

Hi everyone,

For our next meet up, we’re doing a T-Talk. A space where we can talk about HRT, share resources and ask questions. At the end of the meeting we will offer an open skillshare for self injection. If anyone would like to participate and has knowledge/tips to share, or is available to demonstrate and finds it lines up with their shot schedule, please bring what you need to make this happen.

Whether you have been on T for years, just starting your HRT journey or simply want to learn and get more info about it, please feel free to join.

As always, there is no pressure to talk or share unless you wish to. You’re completely welcome to just come by and be in this space together

We are so excited to invite you to the first edition of the q***r SWANA retreat! This gathering is about coming together as North Africans, Imazighen, Kabyles, Persians, Kurds, Turks, Arabs...
We will celebrate our shared stories and diversity, from the Maghreb to the Mashreq, through moments of food, conversation, activities, and rest. We acknowledge that it is not easy to define exactly what “SWANA” means, and we see this retreat as an opportunity to reflect on it together, to define ourselves in our own words, outside of the Western vision of the world. A space to share our struggles and build deep, meaningful networks of solidarity.
Moreover, for almost two years now we have been witnessing yet another sequence of imperialism and colonisation, waking up each morning with new names to mourn, living our days with genocides streamed live before our eyes. We imagine this retreat as a space where we can simply be together, rest from loneliness, and find other voices and whispers that echo our own. As SWANA people, those of us navigating similar experiences within the Western order of the world, we want to face our individual helplessness and transform it into collective power.
This call is open to all q***r POC who are living in, coming from, or descended from any of the countries in the SWANA region. There will be a maximum of 18 participants. To cover the stay and food on site we will be asking for scaled contributions. We will prioritize applications from migrants, trans people, particularly transfemmes, as well as those of us living in rural areas or poor neighborhoods with less access to q***r and trans spaces.
All languages are welcome, and together we will find ways to communicate across our diversities.
There are several common areas and plenty of space on the grounds surrounding the house. La Bassa Mar is located in a rural area and is isolated from its neighbors. If you are interested in taking part, please complete the form linked in our BIO before 05 September. For any additional question you can write us at swanaq***r@gmail.com

Thursday August 28th
Doors from 7, readings from 7:30

Join us for an evening of poetry and prose by Lukas Kofoed Reimann and Buroj! Readings will be followed by a discussion and Q&A.

Lukas Kofoed Reimann is a Danish/German writer, editor, teacher and care worker living in Berlin. Currently he is primarily writing speculative memoir and speculative fiction, focusing on microfiction and fragmented narratives.
Having written his masters thesis on trans* literature and kinship in 2019 he has a background in academia, which still influences his way of working and writing. He often writes about his own experiences with gender transition and chronic pain. However, anxieties about climate change and nature/human relationships in general also feature heavily in his writing.
In 2022 his text Undiagnosed was selected as one of the runners up for the Berlin Writing Prize, and in 2023 he was a recipient of a work-stipend for Non-German literature from the Berlin Senate. Lately his work has appeared in SAND journal and Stadtsprachen Magasin.

Buroj is a q***r Palestinian left-handed triangle, a poet, performance artist and a dentist. A triangle in constant motion and transformation.
His work is influenced by his own story and the lens to the outside.
He didn’t forget to say that he loves to include his bike in every bio.
So, how many times can you find the word bike?

I’m glad to invite to assist to the screening and exchange impression from the collectives short-films KOOL & JA’ filmed and produced in less than one year (2024-2025) thanks to each person from Múuch’ Xíinbal Mayan Assembly in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico that voluntarily decided to participate and learn together, both audiovisual materials the first one in Yucatecan Maya, and the second one in Spanish, have subtitles in English, Spanish and Yucatecan Maya, and both are available in open access on YouTube with the aim that our message reaches all possible geographies and peoples in resistance to megaprojects in the world, being faithful to our belief that these audiovisual materials are urgently needed in our communities in free formats and easy distribution, and not between film festivals in distant geographies.
The non-binary and female perspective behind the how-know of both short films was important along all the process from the script till the launch on YouTube.

KOOL (11min. 21sec., 2025)
This short film entitled KOOL addresses different approaches of defenders of the territory on the ancestral/contemporary meanings of the Maya Milpa, its importance for the communities, as well as the risks and dangers in times where there are multiple megaprojects advancing in the region. Because of insecurity conditions in one of the filming locations, and to protect the integrity of one of the main characters the face images, personal information and locations were omitted.JA’ (9min. 44 sec., 2025)
This short film addresses, from the perspective of a female & a male defender of the territory in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, the spiritual and cultural meanings related to the day-to-day activities related to water for the Mayan peoples of the region.
