My eating habits aren’t always perfect, and that’s okay! I do my best, and my best is enough. 💛

I like to plan ahead for cooking, but sometimes I avoid buying new ingredients so I can give a chance to use everything I already have on the shelf. This is especially important for grains and legumes, which can go rancid over time.

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be stressful or boring. Be smart, don’t waste, and trust the process.
It might take time to get used to it, but it’s always worth it!

Sometimes your belly gives a little practice squeeze, these are called Braxton Hicks contractions! They’re usually mild, irregular, and totally normal, helping your body get ready for birth.

Tip: A warm compress, shower, or gentle belly massage can help them fade away. Staying hydrated, emptying your bladder, and taking it easy after intense activity or intimacy can also reduce them.

Remember: if contractions get stronger, regular, or painful, check in with your healthcare provider.

If you know a pregnant woman, share this! Quick tips to make those practice contractions easier.

During my sessions every person asks different things, everyone has their own fears and questions.
But some questions come up again and again. They might sound simple, yet they deserve long, thoughtful answers. I love giving detailed guidance, but here I kept it short. In the end, we’re all asking the same thing: what’s best for me, and most of all, for the baby.

During pregnancy, tiny cells travel through the placenta in both directions, from mother to baby and from baby to mother.
Some of these cells stay for life, living in the heart, brain, and even scars.

Science calls it microchimerism.
Mothers call it connection.

Postpartum thyroid changes are more common than most realise, affecting up to 25% of mothers, compared to only 3- 4% in the general population.

The tricky part?
Symptoms of low thyroid function, like fatigue, mood changes, brain fog, and hair loss, often mirror what’s considered “normal” in early motherhood. That’s why it often goes unnoticed.

Your thyroid needs extra support after birth. Key nutrients play a vital role:
Iodine - essential for producing thyroid hormones (both too little and too much can cause problems)
Selenium - works with iodine and may help lower the risk of postpartum thyroiditis.
Vitamin D - supports hormone balance and has been shown to improve thyroid function.

If you’re months postpartum and still feeling unusually tired or off, it’s worth checking your thyroid, not just your sleep.

Your baby’s first birthday is such a milestone, and often celebrated with a big, sweet cake!
But after that first taste, many parents start to wonder “Can my baby have sweets now?”
It’s one of the most common questions I get from parents of one year old babies.

The truth is, your child’s love for sweet flavors is natural, they were born with it!
But how you guide that sweet tooth now can shape their food preferences for years to come.

WHO recommend no added sugar before age 2.
That doesn’t mean “no fun”, it means we can let children explore real flavors first. Too much sugar too early can make naturally sweet foods like fruits, taste “boring” to them later on.

Of course, real life includes birthdays, family gatherings, and treats.
If your child has a small piece of cake, that’s okay! What matters most is what happens most of the time.

Here are a few books I often draw inspiration from, whether I’m cooking for clients or suggesting meal ideas. They are wonderful examples of nutrient-dense food, supporting you and your family through different stages of life.

Of course, there are plenty more I could recommend, but for now I will keep it to these, and I will share others from my collection another time.

As parents, we all want our children to feel calm, happy, and able to concentrate.

While there’s no single “magic food”, the pattern of what they eat each day matters more than most people realise.

Refined sugars and processed snacks can create energy highs and lows.
Whole foods, healthy fats, and steady sources of protein give the brain what it needs to feel focused and balanced.

Not every wiggly moment is ADHD. Sometimes, it’s simply the fuel in the tank.

Gentle changes, over time, can make a real difference, for you, and for them.

In 2025, it is unacceptable that women are still being forced to choose between breastfeeding and keeping their jobs.

While breastfeeding should be fully supported and protected, countries like Portugal are now proposing changes that may limit this right instead of strengthening it.

This is not progress, this is a warning.
We must stand with all mothers and push for policies that protect, not punish, those who choose to breastfeed while working.
Supporting breastfeeding means supporting public health, equality, and real choice.

It’s tempting to hide veggies, and yes, sometimes it works!
But if our little ones never see or taste vegetables in their natural form, how will they ever learn to enjoy them?

Helping children build a good relationship with food takes time, trust, and lots of small exposures.
It might take several tries before they accept a new food, and that’s totally normal. Sometimes, they’ll only eat it one way, like raw carrots, but not cooked ones. That’s okay too. As long as they are eating them, that’s enough for now.

Let’s make veggies visible, familiar, and pressure-free.
You are doing better than you think.

In Germany, we have a tradition called Wochenbett, a 6–8 week period after birth where mothers are encouraged to rest and receive support from a midwife. It’s a beautiful concept, and one many other countries could learn from.

But even here, the idea that healing is “finished” at 6 weeks is everywhere.
The truth is: Postpartum takes longer.

Your body is still restoring nutrients, balancing hormones, and healing.
Your mind is still adjusting.
And sleep? Well… let’s not even talk about that yet.

Wherever you live you deserve support that lasts more than a few weeks.

There is no deadline for recovery.
Just a path forward, step by step.

Does this surprise you?
Did you feel pressure to be “back to normal” too soon?

Share below or message me, I’d love to hear your story.

Mastitis is something many mums don’t expect, but it can happen, especially in the early weeks of breastfeeding. It’s a painful inflammation of the breast, sometimes caused by a blocked milk duct or infection.

If you’ve had it before, you know how hard it is, physically and emotionally.

If you notice fever, flu-like symptoms, or a very painful lump, it’s important to speak to your midwife, doctor or lactation consultant. Mastitis can need medical treatment.
