Seed Cycling for Hormone Balance – Does It Work? 🤔

Ever heard of seed cycling? It’s a natural approach where you eat specific seeds during different phases of your cycle to support hormonal balance. 🌸✨

🔄 Follicular Phase (Days 1-14):
🥄 Flaxseeds & Pumpkin Seeds – Thought to help balance estrogen & support ovulation.

Fluffy Cottage Cheese Pancakes – A Protein-Packed Breakfast for Kids

For Pancake Tuesday, I made these delicious cottage cheese pancakes for my kids, and they had no idea I secretly boosted them with extra protein! They devoured them, none the wiser that they were getting a nutrient-dense, gut-friendly meal instead of just a sugar rush.

Unlike regular pancakes, these are loaded with cottage cheese, which adds calcium, probiotics, and protein to keep little tummies full and focused. The eggs provide brain-fueling choline, and I used buckwheat flour for extra fiber, but you can swap it for regular flour if you prefer.

Recipe

Makes about 15 pancakes

Ingredients:
✔️ 400 g cottage cheese
✔️ 4 eggs
✔️ 1 tsp vanilla extract
✔️ 2 tbsp sugar (or swap for honey/maple syrup)
✔️ 1 tbsp baking powder
✔️ 125 g buckwheat flour (or regular flour)
✔️ 56 g ghee or coconut oil for frying

Instructions:

1️⃣ Add all the ingredients in order (cottage cheese, eggs, vanilla, sugar, baking powder, flour) into a blender.
2️⃣ Blend for 10 seconds until smooth and creamy.
3️⃣ Heat ghee or coconut oil in a pan over medium heat.
4️⃣ Pour batter into small portions and cook until golden brown on both sides.

This recipe makes about 15 pancakes, depending on size. Serve with fresh berries, nut butter, or yogurt for an extra nutrient boost. A sneaky, wholesome win for Pancake Tuesday—or any day!

Sometimes, a craving hits, and you just have to roll with it—so I made my own burger, but with a serious nutritional upgrade! 💪🏽

✨ The Build:
✔️ Gluten-free red bagel (homemade & high-fibre)
✔️ Regenerative Wagyu patty – rich in omega-3s & CLA for anti-inflammatory goodness
✔️ Avocado – creamy, heart-healthy fats to keep you full & satisfied
✔️ Buttermilk cheese – because gut-friendly dairy can be part of a balanced diet
✔️ Broccoli sprouts – tiny but mighty, packed with sulforaphane (hello, detox support!)

Oh my good red lentil bagels! 🥯✨

Miss bread but not the bloat? These gluten-free, high-protein bagels are a perimenopause powerhouse—10g+ protein for muscle maintenance, 7g+ fibre for gut health, plus magnesium for mood + sleep! Even my kids love them!

🔥 Recipe (makes 4):
🔸150g red lentils (soaked overnight)
🔸20g psyllium husk
🔸15g olive oil, 15ml lemon juice
🔸1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt
🔸100-120ml water, 1 tsp maple syrup
🔸Mixed seeds for topping

👉 Blend lentils, psyllium, lemon juice, salt & oil. Add water until Play-Doh consistency. Stir in baking powder + syrup. Shape, top with seeds, bake at 200°C for 30-35 mins.
