One month of living in is Coming to an end.
My simple live included luxeries like watching sunrise and sunset daily, swimming in the early morning, friendly people, walks in the desert, fresh fruit, yoga, sun, light, warmth, beauty and total alignment with the rythm of nature.
I take all this with me back home.

One of the best experiences I had this year was visiting Ficht Tanner, an artist and mystic living in the Appenzell mountains in Switzerland. He creates wonderful, large, colourful embroideries.
Although he lives a simple life in a small village, his spirit is wide and free.
So, if you long for freedom and space, there’s no need to board a plane and travel to the other end of the world. Instead, close your eyes, be patient and find your calm.

I usually avoid traditional Christmas celebrations by travelling to Sinai.
For me, Christmas is less about gifts and trees and more about the birth of our inner light in the dark season and a sense of connection to a knowing and loving field.
So, I wish you a Christmas filled with moments of stillness, where you can feel that light.

‘Everything starts from a dot.’ is a famous quote by the Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky, who believed that a single dot is the fundamental starting point for all creative expression.

I took my grandchildren to see an exhibition by one of my favourite artists: Yayoi Kusama. We were fascinated by the colours, spaces and the DOTS.
We felt very free and at home.
Be attentive to what resonates with you: it could be art, nature, people, colours, spaces... That’s where you belong.
And to go there, start with just a dot.

So, after 17 years, I set off on my journey to Syria once more. The war is over, but no one knows how things will progress. As I wandered through the markets of the beautiful old town of Damascus, I met wonderful, friendly people at every turn. I also saw the destruction left behind by the war. Although it was not a relaxing trip, I feel very grateful, inspired and enriched by experiencing another culture and the resilience of its people.
Don’t believe the media. Always go there yourself.
