This is the first pot holder my seven-year-old granddaughter crocheted.
I made the border to cover up a few uneven spots. It’s my favourite kitchen tool, and it always makes me smile when I see it.
It encourages me to try new things, to show imperfect results, and to give up striving for perfection altogether.

Just do things, make mistakes, don’t let that stop you from being visible. Learn from the children.

Our world is upside down, values that were once considered certain seem to be reversing. If you too are feeling deeply perplexed and powerless in the face of this, perhaps it is time to pick up this book:
‘Moral Ambition: How to stop wasting your talent and start making a difference.’
I started reading it yesterday and began to wonder whether I am really making a difference in what I do. At first, ‘Moral Ambition’ sounds a bit dusty, like a lecture on renunciation. In fact, however, the author makes it the topic of the hour.
What makes sense in this crumbling world? What is my contribution? Should I change my life?
I don’t agree with everything in this book, but I have to admit that it stirs me up.

One month of living in is Coming to an end.
My simple live included luxeries like watching sunrise and sunset daily, swimming in the early morning, friendly people, walks in the desert, fresh fruit, yoga, sun, light, warmth, beauty and total alignment with the rythm of nature.
I take all this with me back home.

One of the best experiences I had this year was visiting Ficht Tanner, an artist and mystic living in the Appenzell mountains in Switzerland. He creates wonderful, large, colourful embroideries.
Although he lives a simple life in a small village, his spirit is wide and free.
So, if you long for freedom and space, there’s no need to board a plane and travel to the other end of the world. Instead, close your eyes, be patient and find your calm.

I usually avoid traditional Christmas celebrations by travelling to Sinai.
For me, Christmas is less about gifts and trees and more about the birth of our inner light in the dark season and a sense of connection to a knowing and loving field.
So, I wish you a Christmas filled with moments of stillness, where you can feel that light.
