Why does everything feel the same after a breakthrough? You saw the pattern, maybe even cried about it—and yet, Tuesday rolls around and you’re right back in it. That whiplash is so common. It doesn’t mean nothing changed. It means you’re in the integration phase—the ordinary, unglamorous moments where real change is built.

"Every time you notice the pattern, you loosen it." The work is in seeing the urge, pausing, and choosing differently—even if just for a breath. That’s how you build a new pathway, one small moment at a time.

If you’re stuck between awareness and action, what kind of support helps you keep going? Or, what’s your "Tuesday after the breakthrough" story?

What if resolutions didn’t start with goals or plans, but with a pause? This year, before rushing into the next thing, I’m asking: What do I want to release, what did I really learn, and how do I want to show up now?

Sometimes the simplest questions open up the most honest answers. I wrote a short piece where I share how this actually played out in my own life here if you'd like to know https://coachkristina.net/why-new-years-resolutions-fail/

There's a quiet power in knowing what you need and choosing it anyway. Not loudly. Not apologetically. Just honestly. This is what owning your shadows looks like—the gentle, unglamorous moments when you trust yourself more than tradition.

Happy holidays! May your days be filled with warmth, and may you be gentle with yourself through it all. 🕯️

Your mum makes that comment. Your sister does that thing. And you're trapped at the Christmas table with the turkey and the tension.

Here's the truth: that trigger rising in your chest? It's not really about what they just said. It's your body remembering an old role you've been playing since you were a kid.

So here's a tiny tool that actually works: Put your hand on your thigh under the table. Ground and self soothe. Then name what you're feeling. Silently. "I'm angry. I'm hurt. I'm eight years old again."
That small act interrupts the pattern. It brings you back to now. Back to the adult you who gets to choose how you respond.

I've got 5 more practical strategies in the full post—link in bio if you want them. Because you can break the patterns without having to break up with you family.

Everyone thinks holiday stress is about dealing with difficult relatives.
But here's what's actually happening:
Your family isn't the problem. They're the trigger.

The real issue? The parts of you that learned to earn love by being perfect, keeping peace, and never setting boundaries.

Your aunt didn't create those patterns. She just activates them.

I wrote a whole article about what your triggers are actually trying to tell you https://coachkristina.net/holiday-perfectionism-shadows/

Every December, something curious happens. The holidays arrive, and suddenly you're back in those old family patterns.

Maybe you become the fixer again. The peacekeeper. The one who stays polite while someone crosses a boundary. The one who smiles even though your chest feels tight.

But here's what most people don't realize: those uncomfortable emotions—resentment, exhaustion, comparison—aren't here to sabotage you. They're trying to protect you. They're showing you where boundaries are needed, where you feel unseen, where you've been abandoning yourself.

This time of year offers a rare doorway. The same family system that formed your shadows is the one that makes them visible.

You don't need to set every boundary or speak every truth this year. Small shifts count. Notice you're triggered and name the emotion honestly, just to yourself. "This is resentment. This is fear. This is old sadness." Just naming it softens the charge.

It happens every Christmas. Someone walks in and immediately triggers you.
But what if that irritation is actually trying to tell you something important about yourself?

The traits that bother us most in others are often the exact traits we had to suppress to fit in, to be accepted, to be the 'sensible one.'

In shadow work, we call this mirror work.

Your sister-in-law isn't your enemy. She's your mirror - showing you the parts of yourself that are suffocating under the weight of who you've had to be.
This holiday season, what if you used those triggers as doorways back to yourself?

Check it out here https://coachkristina.net/sister-in-law-mirror-work/ 💙

At this year’s Nordic Spirit Festival I’ll be holding space for two deeply guided group experiences:

✨ Session 1: Feel Your Higher Self A gentle, channeled meditation to reconnect with the deeper truth of who you are. You’ll be guided toward clarity, joy, and the next aligned steps in your life.

🌬 Session 2: What Element Are You? A journey into the elemental nature of your being — Earth, Water, Fire, or Air. Discover which energy needs strengthening in you and your relationships, and how to restore inner balance.

Both journeys include time for group integration — to reflect, share, and anchor what’s arisen.

If you’re seeking direction, emotional clarity, or simply space to be — I’d love to welcome you in.

🕊 Which session speaks to you more right now — Higher Self or Elemental Balance? Let me know in the comments 🌿
