Today brought even more energy, engagement, and connection as we hosted two dynamic factory tour sessions at our Irene head office.

Our morning session, led by Graham Blackbeard, gave guests another in-depth look at our operations, innovation, and team in action.

The momentum carried straight into our afternoon session, hosted by Stuart Blackbeard. Guests experienced the same immersive tour, followed by a vibrant braai to close off the day—bringing everyone together in true South African style.

From insightful discussions to shared meals and great company, today was all about strengthening connections and creating memorable experiences.

Dr Yassmin is a leading cosmetic and restorative dentist based in Sydney, Australia, and the founder of FY Smile in Double Bay. Known for his expertise in aesthetic dentistry and digital smile design, he has helped advance modern workflows that integrate technology with patient-centered treatment planning.

He graduated from the University of Sydney in 1993 and later earned a Master’s degree in Aesthetic Dentistry from King’s College London, further refining his focus on advanced restorative and aesthetic techniques. 🎓

Southern Implants is honoured to announce Dr Dennis Tarnow as the Keynote Speaker for SICON 2026! 🌍🦷

Dr Tarnow is a world-renowned specialist in Periodontics and Prosthodontics, based in New York City, USA, and widely regarded as one of the most influential educators and researchers in implant dentistry.

He earned his DDS from NYU College of Dentistry, where he also completed dual specialty certificates in Periodontics and Prosthodontics. Following an extraordinary academic career, he served for many years as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at NYU, where a clinical wing is named in his honour in recognition of his contributions to the field. 🎓

Currently, Dr Tarnow is a Clinical Professor and Director of Implant Education at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, continuing to shape the next generation of implant clinicians.

A prolific researcher and educator, Dr Tarnow has published more than 250 scientific articles and co-authored several landmark textbooks, including The Single-Tooth Implant. His research has profoundly influenced modern implant treatment protocols worldwide.

Dr Nicholas Egbert is a board-certified Prosthodontist and Surgical Implant Specialist based in Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned his DDS from Creighton University and a Master of Dental Science from the University of Tennessee, where he completed a three-year residency in Advanced Surgical Prosthodontics. 🎓

Currently, Dr Egbert serves as an attending faculty member at the University of Utah Hospital and is the Founder & CEO of Implantability, an advanced online implant CE and tax strategy software platform.

Dr de Visscher is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon–Oncologist at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), specialising in head and neck oncology, reconstruction, and oral rehabilitation. His clinical and academic work focuses on restoring function and quality of life for oncology patients following complex maxillofacial defects.

With a particular interest in the use of zygomatic implants for maxillary defects, Dr de Visscher brings deep expertise and long-term clinical insight into implant-based solutions for some of the most challenging rehabilitative cases.
