Non-polarised dermoscopy relies on direct skin contact – but a contact medium makes all the difference.

- Disinfectant: Quick to apply and microbicidal, but avoid spraying directly on some dermatoscope lenses.

- Immersion oil: High viscosity gives crystal-clear images.

- Ultrasound gel: Perfect for evaluating vascular structures and uneven surfaces, like nails.
