Did you know that the amount of Essential Fatty Acids in your blood plasma is a huge health marker for longevity?

Eat more fish!!

✅ 1. Omega-3 Levels and Mortality / Longevity Outcomes
Large human cohort studies (e.g., UK Biobank) have found that higher plasma levels of both omega-3 and omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are linked with lower risk of all-cause mortality — especially omega-3s — and that a lower omega-6/omega-3 ratio is generally more favorable for longevity outcomes.

Higher circulating omega-3 levels have been associated with lower risk of dying from cancer, cardiovascular disease, and overall mortality.

I’m committed to increasing my fish intake to 3 dishes/week vs 2 dishes regularly.

Your metabolism didn’t suddenly
“stop working.”

Yes , hormones change, energy expenditure changes

BUT

It adapted to the environment you put it in for years.

Years of under-eating.
Skipping meals.
Over-exercising or not exercising at all
Running on stress, caffeine, and willpower.

Your body is brilliant - it meets you where you’re at.

When food is scarce, it becomes efficient.
It conserves energy.
It lowers output.
It protects you.

So no - aging isn’t the real problem.

Chronic under-fueling is.

This is why:
• Eating less stops working
• Fat loss feels harder than ever
• Energy, sleep, hormones, and digestion feel off
• Thyroid output slows waaay down

Not good for us girls in perimenopause

The solution isn’t more restriction.

It’s rebuilding trust with your metabolism through enough food, enough protein, nourishment, stress support and strategic movement.

There’s a huge narrative online right now for midlife women to “shrink” themselves and to endure the symptoms.

The reality is, you were probably never truly taught how metabolism works and how to support yourself in a way so it feels safe to work again.

There’s this pressure we are creating for ourselves. We want to be healthy and so we think we have to do everything right. Because we believe that if we don’t do it right, we continue to feel bad.

There’s nothing more frustrating than following a protocol, taking the supplements, and carefully following professional advice — only to find that the problem still persists.

The challenge is that we often view health in black-and-white terms: we feel good or we feel bad.

In reality, most of us move through life with a range of symptoms, tolerances, and imbalances.

It’s only when something becomes disruptive that we decide it needs to change.

Healing doesn’t happen because we eliminate every symptom. It occurs when balance is restored enough for the body to function more effectively.

And that balance starts in the gut. When the gut is properly supported, it can influence function throughout the body.

This way of looking at health may feel like a bigger concept — but in practice, it’s often simpler than following increasingly complicated protocols when we understand the foundations the gut actually needs.

In 2026, I’m determined to keep teaching, sharing and discussing the gut, so YOU feel confident in the steps you can take to restore balance to your body.

So what’s the secret to living a normal life with Hashi’s?

The three things I wish I had known when I started my bumpy road back to health:

1. Hashimoto’s is complex but not complicated. Root causes are similar - individual nuances are varied

2. Start by reverse engineering using your symptoms as clues

3. If you still don’t see the results you want to see, use functional tests

Let me explain.

I see a lot of gut infections because they are a huge symptom of gut imbalances.

Gallbladder issues are big too because of gut imbalances

And so is bloating, H Pylori and constipation

Again, huge gut imbalances

All of the above are symptoms your body is using to speak with you.

Start re-aligning those symptoms by addressing your gut health first.

And this goes beyond cutting out gluten and dairy.
