Respect is nothing that should be earned but that's naturally given and should always be the very first consideration in how to treat another human. Our untouchable birth right is a state, not an option.
So ask yourself today, are you treating others with respect. Are you speaking with respect, are you considering whether or not your very own actions might be disrespectful for someone else? Respect Dienst equal people pleasing or taking on responsibility for everyone else. It simply means when one is expressing his/her needs and boundaries that they are taken seriously. It means that the very way of interacting with someone else is guided by the space and care that's needed to consider those needs and boundaries. Respect to me means I am seeing that there is another pumping heart in the room and I do not behave like I am on my own. It means that I am interacting, respecting, aligning.
The idea of respect needing to be earned in my eyes comes from a very competitive mindset. Only if I am proving myself worthy of respect, others grant me the honor, when actually treating others with respect reflects our own perception of the worthiness of someone else. In my eyes noone is more or less worthy, so every interaction is to be based on kindness and respect.
Today the Celtic traditions celebrate Imbolic. The day when the light of the spring finally breaks through the surface of the earth after it's long winter's sleep. The first flowers of the year start blooming and the birds begin to sing with stronger intensity. Today is a new moon as well, bringing the beginning of a new circle, time to let go what's not serving anymore and invite what we are intending to strengthen in the next four weeks.
May that gentle light of today radiates and emits the frequency of respect, tolerance and carefulness among each others. May we appreciate each and everyone consciously and may we gentle remind one another of that infinite worth of being a living being on mother earth, day by day by day ❣️❤️
