Today, carpenters, plumbers, bricklayers and other construction workers are as exposed to injuries as they were 30 years ago. In other businesses and industries the risk has been reduced by half.

More construction workers were injured in 2011 compared to the previous year. At the same time, absenteeism due to work-related injuries has increased significantly. This is apparent from statistics on work-related injuries 2011 produced by the Confederation of Danish Employers (DA). Here the injury rate has been calculated by measuring the number of work-related injuries per one million hours worked.
