FASCIA – THE HIDDEN NETWORK OF OUR BODY
“Fascia” comes from Latin, meaning “band” or “bundle.” It is mostly made of collagen and plays a crucial role in our movement and health. When healthy, it is flexible, elastic, and allows the body to move without pain.
🔹 Quick facts about fascia:
✔ Connects all connective tissues and holds the body together
✔ There are 4 types of fascia – all interconnected
✔ Healthy fascia is elastic and “sliding”
✔ When it sticks together, it becomes stiff, lumpy, and can cause pain or knots
⚠️ What damages fascia?
– Sedentary lifestyle
– Poor posture
– Dehydration
– Muscle injuries
– Unhealthy diet and lack of sleep
– Stress
One of the most common consequences of unhealthy fascia is cellulite – a condition affecting more than 80% of women after puberty. It appears as the classic “orange peel skin” caused by fat cells trapped between fascial fibers.
📌 Studies have shown that fascia manipulation (e.g. with maderotherapy) is one of the most effective methods to reduce cellulite. It is a non-invasive protocol that uses mechanical stimulation to reduce subcutaneous fat thickness and improve skin smoothness.
✨ The result?
Healthier fascia, less cellulite, and a lighter, more flexible body.
