Post-operative delirium can be distressing,not only for patients, but for their families too. This important study explores the shared experience of delirium in the ICU, revealing the deep emotional and behavioural impact on both patients and loved ones. 💬❤️‍🩹

🔹 Family engagement can help prevent delirium
🔹 Poor communication worsens outcomes

Great news, Communicare ICU is now being used in 5 Intensive Care Units in Põhja-Eesti regionaalhaigla Hospital in Tallinn, Estonia.

The app allows patients to communicate with the medical staff, loved ones, and caregivers, by expressing their needs with an easy-to-use visual interface and audio output. Empowering patients to communicate using synthetic voice, while being on a ventilator.
