تم توقيع اتفاقية انشاء كرسي اليونسكو لأخلاقيات العلوم الحيوية بجامعة عين شمس في شهر ابريل عام 2020، ويهدف الكرسى إلى تعزيز التعاون بين الجامعات والمنظمات واللجان المعنية بأخلاقيات العلوم الحيوية والقوانين المنظمة لممارسة المهن الطبية في مصر وخارجها.
ولذلك ، فقد بدأ كرسي اليونسكو فى إنشاء شبكة وطنية لأخلاقيات العلوم الحيوية في الجامعات والمراكز البحثية والمؤسسات المصرية ، والتي من خلالها يتم التعاون في المبادرات والأنشطة التى يقوم بها الكرسى لتفعيل الحوار حول كل ما يستجد من قضايا ومعضلات أخلاقية تتعلق بالعلوم الحيوية.
ويرحب كرسى اليونسكو بانضمام كل المهتمين بهذا المجال من مختلف التخصصات مثل الطب، والتمريض، والأسنان، والصيدلة، والعلاج الطبيعى، والعلوم، والهندسة، والشريعة والقانون، والفلسفة، وعلم الاجتماع،.... بمختلف الجامعات المصرية.

It is pleasure to announce the
First annual conference of UNESCO Chair in Bioethics, Faculty of
Medicine- Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt ; that will be under the
theme “Biotechnology: Ethical Challenges and Opportunities”

This conference will take place online on March 24, 2022. It aims to
explore how ethics should interact with biotechnology to ensure safe and fair use.

We are pleased to invite you to UNESCO’s roundtable on the ethics of AI “Challenges of AI Ethics and Governance: From Principles to Practice" on 24 February 2022 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. (GMT+1, CET). The roundtable will be held online and will be open to the public.

This year marks the fourth edition of a series of roundtables launched in 2018 by UNESCO with the support of Japan, with the aim of promoting international dialogue and raising public awareness of the ethical challenges related to Artificial Intelligence.

This roundtable will address a number of challenges that the governance of AI triggers from an ethical perspective. These include how to translate the ethical principles into practice; how to measure fairness and equity; and the incentives that may push the private sector to comply with ethical principles such as inclusiveness.

This roundtable will be moderated by Emma Ruttkamp-Bloem, professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Pretoria, a member of the World Commission on the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST).

Invited panelists are:

Carlos Affonso Souza, Professor of Law at the Rio de Janeiro State University;
Ellen Broad Senior Associate Professor with the 3A Institute within the School of Cybernetics, at the Australian National University;
Sabelo Mhlambi, Fellow at the Berkman and Klein Center for Internet and Society, Harvard University, Practitioner Fellow at Stanford’s Digital Civil Society Lab
Favour Borokini AI and tech policy researcher with Pollicy, an award-winning Ugandan feminist collective and civic technology organization.
