🍂✨ Mabon — Honoring the Turning of the Wheel ✨🍂
Mabon, also known as the Autumn Equinox, is the second of the harvest festivals on the Celtic wheel of the year. It marks the moment when day and night stand in perfect balance before the darkness begins to grow. For our ancestors, this was a time of deep gratitude, celebrating the abundance of the harvest while preparing for the quieter, inward season ahead.
The name Mabon comes from a Welsh mythic figure, Mabon ap Modron, the “Divine Son of the Divine Mother,” symbolizing rebirth, cycles and the eternal dance of light and dark.
🌾 Why this time matters
At Mabon, we’re invited to pause and give thanks for what has ripened in our own lives — the projects, relationships, lessons and blessings that have come to fruition. It’s also a time to honor the changing seasons within ourselves: to release what we’ve outgrown and to welcome the wisdom of stillness and rest that autumn carries.
🌍 Connection to the Earth
When we attune ourselves to the earth’s rhythms, we remember that change is sacred. The trees let go of their leaves without fear, the fields rest after bearing fruit, and nature reminds us that endings are not losses, but part of the great cycle of renewal.
✨ A Mabon Reflection
• What am I harvesting in my life right now?
• What is ready to be released, like the falling leaves?
• How can I welcome balance — in work, relationships, and within myself?
May this equinox be a reminder of the beauty of cycles, the wisdom of change and the deep nourishment available when we walk in rhythm with the earth. 🌙🍎🌾
