October's Theme: Back to the roots: a grounding practice and Muladhara Chakra focus.
We will focus on a grounding practice and the idea of connecting to our root and the feeling the ground on and off the mat, a simple yet powerful practice that can bring us back to the “Here and Now” and help us keep moving through life with awareness. With connecting to the earth, we can feel centred, solid and balanced, both physically and mentally.
We will practice balanced sequences of yoga asana for grounding, hip opening, and balancing poses. Moreover, the class will include meditation, pranayama, and sound work.
We will start with a short meditation that brings us to a grounded state with simple guidance for sensations, body and breath awareness, followed by the simple warm-up, awakening and purifying practice of Gayatri Kriya, then moving to yoga practice infused with sound work. We wind down closer to the end with long Shavasana and Yoga Nidra with gradual guidance for deep relaxation, then pranayama and unguided meditation to integrate all the qualities gained during the class, then we finishing with gratitude.
This is a holistic class that integrates five elements of yoga practice to work on the five layers of our being of five Koshas; the physical body, the energetic body, the mental body, the intuitive body and the soul.
Beginners are welcome to the class as alternative options for different poses are offered to live and witness the blessing of gradual progress and body opening with practice.
Classes are offered Tuesday And Saturday, please call for more details and prices.
