UNPOPULAR OPINION: Just because you “love” your horse doesn’t mean you’re doing right by them.
I’ve seen too many horses stuck in stalls 23 hours a day, overfed and underworked, sore-backed from ill-fitting saddles, or being “rescued” into a life of boredom and obesity.
“Love” doesn’t replace knowledge. It doesn’t replace time in the saddle. And it sure doesn’t replace basic horsemanship.
You don’t have to be perfect. But if your horse’s feet are long, their mind is bored, and they’ve forgotten what a real ride feels like — maybe it’s time for a little tough love.
Horses aren’t just pets. They’re partners.
And partners deserve more than just snacks, selfies, and occasional scratches behind the ear.
Let’s talk:
Where’s the line between love and laziness?
Are we doing right by our horses… or just doing what’s easy for us?
