I am Sobhy, and I’m excited to introduce you to CIG - MFM: Cardiology Interest Group MFM 🫀🩺

Founded about a year ago alongside Asmaa Bilal (huge thanks to her!), this student-led initiative was born out of a shared passion for cardiovascular health. Though our early impact was modest, the heart of CIG beats stronger than ever—and we’re now entering a new chapter.

🌟 Our Mission
CIG aims to advance knowledge and awareness of cardiology through education, research, and meaningful community engagement. We're building a collaborative environment for medical students, healthcare professionals, and anyone passionate about the heart—literally and figuratively.

📢 Exciting Announcement for Our Cardiology Interest Group! 📢

We're thrilled to kick off our first session of the Journal Club! Join us on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 9:00 PM for an insightful online session titled "How to Read Guidelines."

Our presenter, Dr. Mohamed El Sobky, is a dedicated Cardiology Resident at Ahmed Maher Teaching Hospital and an experienced ACLS and First Aid instructor. He'll guide us through understanding the essential aspects of reading and interpreting clinical guidelines in cardiology.

- Analyze cardiac axis deviations and their clinical implications.

📌 ليه تحضر الكورس ؟

لأن الـ ECG أداة مش بس للتشخيص، لكنها كمان بتكشف كتير عن حالة المريض. ومن خلال المحاضرات هتتعلم:

إزاي تعمل تخطيط قلب بدقة وبالشكل الصح.

تربط بين التشريح اللي درسناه في الكلية وموجات الـ ECG اللي بنشوفها كل يوم.

📌 محتوى المحاضرة الأولى:

💢 Basic Anatomy and Physiology of the Heart:
- Understand the anatomy of the cardiac conduction system and coronary circulation.
- Correlate the anatomy with ECG waveforms.

💢 Concepts of ECG Recording:
- Comprehend the principles underlying ECG functionality and its clinical applications.
- Identify normal ECG components.
- Demonstrate ECG device setup and recording.

Cardiology is a major field in our educational journey, addressing topics that impact many lives and requiring creativity and enthusiasm. Our Cardiology Interest Group (CIG) at Menoufia faculty of medicine offers students the opportunity to explore and participate in the world of cardiology.

As a cardiology group we gain knowledge from up-to-date sources and cardiologists experience and support, allowing us to offer exceptional opportunities for research and skill development. This keeps our members up-to-date while providing a space to be creative and innovative.

We are excited to invite volunteers to join us and become part of a community dedicated to exploring the fascinating world of cardiology. Accepted members will have the opportunity to participate in various enriching activities, including:

1️⃣ Cardiology scientific research and essential knowledge and skills
2️⃣Cardiology workshops
3️⃣Insightful theoretical lectures
4️⃣Contributing to volunteer work and community initiatives
