🌱 My Story, My Why 🌱

There was a time I was so shy and self-conscious that even speaking up felt impossible. But the more I listened to people’s struggles, the more I realized: I wasn’t alone. We all carry stories, fears, and dreams that shape us.

That’s why I became a psychotherapist. To create a space where people feel understood, not judged.

But there’s another side of me too: I’m a runner, a spirit addict who finds freedom in movement and resilience on the road. Running has taught me the same lessons I bring into therapy: patience, endurance, self-belief, and the courage to start again after setbacks.

💬 On this page, I’ll be sharing both sides of me—the therapist who believes in healing through connection, and the runner who believes in the strength of the human spirit.

My hope? That through my stories, you find reflections of your own. That you realize psychology isn’t just about the clinic—it’s about how we live, love, fall, and rise again.

Welcome to my journey. 🕊️

Here are some effective techniques for practicing positive self-talk:

1. **Awareness**: Start by becoming aware of your inner dialogue. Notice when negative thoughts arise and acknowledge them without judgment.

2. **Challenge Negative Thoughts**: When you catch yourself thinking negatively, challenge those thoughts. Ask yourself if they are really true or if there’s a more positive perspective.

3. **Affirmations**: Create a list of positive affirmations that resonate with you. Repeat them daily, especially in the morning or before challenging situations.

4. **Gratitude Journaling**: Write down things you are grateful for each day. This practice shifts your focus from negative thoughts to positive aspects of your life.

5. **Visualize Success**: Spend a few minutes visualizing yourself succeeding in your goals. Picture the steps you’ll take and how you’ll feel once you achieve them.

6. **Surround Yourself with Positivity**: Engage with positive people, read uplifting books, or listen to motivational podcasts. This can help reinforce a positive mindset.

7. **Practice Self-Compassion**: Treat yourself with kindness when you make mistakes. Remind yourself that everyone has setbacks and that they are part of growth.

8. **Set Realistic Goals**: Break your goals into smaller, achievable steps. Celebrate your progress along the way to maintain a positive outlook.

9. **Mindfulness and Meditation**: Practice mindfulness or meditation to help calm your mind and foster a more positive internal dialogue.

10. **Use “I” Statements**: Frame your thoughts with “I” statements to take ownership of your feelings. For example, say “I am capable” instead of “I might be capable.”

In Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, Muslims around the world commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. However, before the sacrifice could be carried out, God provided a ram to be sacrificed instead. This event symbolizes obedience, faith, and the willingness to make sacrifices for the greater good.

The act of sacrifice during Eid al-Adha serves as a reminder of the importance of selflessness, generosity, and devotion to God. It encourages individuals to reflect on their own willingness to make sacrifices in their lives, whether it be in the form of material possessions, time, or personal desires, for the betterment of others and to strengthen their relationship with the Divine.

During this sacred time, it is essential to remember that sacrifice is not just about giving up something valuable, but also about demonstrating a deep commitment to one’s beliefs and values. It is a reminder to prioritize spiritual growth, compassion, and empathy towards others, embodying the spirit of sacrifice in both actions and intentions.
