🔁 Retreatment of Internal Resorption | Turning a Challenge into Healing

Internal resorption can be aggressive, silent, and destructive — but with proper strategy, the tooth can be saved.

Key steps to reach a predictable outcome 👇

🧠 Accurate Diagnosis
• Careful radiographic analysis (angled views / CBCT when needed) to confirm true internal resorption and its extent

🔍 Access & Removal of Old Filling
• Conservative yet straight-line access
• Complete removal of previous obturation materials

🧼 Thorough Chemomechanical Disinfection
• Copious irrigation with activated NaOCl
• Enhanced cleaning of the resorptive defect where files alone cannot reach

🧪 Calcium Hydroxide Medication
• Interim dressing to control bleeding, eliminate remaining bacteria, and arrest resorptive activity

🧱 3D Obturation of the Resorptive Defect
• Warm vertical compaction / injectable techniques
• Use of bioceramic materials when indicated to seal irregularities

📈 Follow-Up & Healing
• Radiographic and clinical review showing arrest of resorption and periapical healing

✨ Internal resorption is not the end — with proper diagnosis, disinfection, and sealing, healing is achievable.
