Feliz Día de los Reyes Magos 👑

Here in Spain the Christmas holidays are not over. Today is the 3 kings day. It’s like a second Christmas Day.

So while many people are back to work, back working in their business I’m still ‘off’ work.

For Christmas my daughter bought me this lovely journal. I’ve been using it this week to map out and plan my year both in business and personal.
I love pen and paper and love writing down all my idea and thoughts even if they end up in digital form in the end haha

I’ve realised I have really clear goals and a clear vision for my business this year and one of the main things I want to do is do things slow and steady. I want a balance between work and personal life 50/50 which is what I’ve always strived for and not been able to achieve. This year I’m determined to make it happen.

Being consistent is hard!

The number one thing I tell my clients is to be consistent in business with your presence.
But it’s tough. Sometimes you’re too busy with personal stuff, sometimes you’re too busy with actual work, sometimes things get on top and you just don’t really know what to focus on.

And guess what, I’m no different! Sometimes I just want to go to the beach and switch off!

BUT the key is to not give up, not think you’ve blown it by having some time out.

It’s like being on a diet and having that cake and saying “oh well I’ve blown it now might as well eat some more cake!”
You having blown anything and sometimes some time is just what you need to get clear again, to find motivation again, to come up with new ideas and solutions.

So if you’ve been inconsistent don’t worry, get back out there, start today because putting it off means longer to get to where you want to be 🐝 😊

Coffee in hand ☕ before my Spanish lesson 🇪🇸… after being sick all last week, you can probably see it in my eyes 👀. When you run your own business, being sick is tricky – there’s no one to cover for you, no sick days, and everything just piles up while you’re off.

But here I am, back at it this week, catching up on all the work I missed and slowly getting back into the flow. It’s a reminder that running your own thing is rewarding, but it definitely keeps you on your toes – even when all you want is a day in bed! 💪

Let’s be honest starting a business can feel overwhelming.

You’re told you need everything:
websites, landing pages, CRMs, automations, email sequences, booking systems, five social media platforms, and a partridge in a pear tree. 🙃

But here’s the truth, you don’t need all that to get started.

You just need the basics and the rest can (and should) grow with you.

Start simple:
✅ Legality & professionalism - insurance, terms, and registration sorted.
✅ Website - even a one-pager to start.
✅ Social media - choose ONE platform to show up on consistently.
✅ Headshots - real, approachable, you.
✅ Marketing materials - a few key templates (flyer, banner, post).
✅ A bio - people buy from people, not titles.

And of course, before you touch any of this, build your foundations:
Your why, mission, vision, ideal client, branding, and voice.
Those guide everything else.

Forget the noise.
Keep it simple.
Get visible.
Then build on solid ground. 🐝

I live near the beach and honestly, it’s one of the reasons I love Spain so much.

But not everyone loves the beach. Some people hate sand, prefer the mountains, or think it’s too hot.
And that’s okay.

It’s the same with your clients.
Not everyone will be drawn to you, your approach, your energy, or your way of working.

But the ones who are? They’re your people.

They’ll “get” you. They’ll trust you. They’ll stick around.

So don’t try to appeal to everyone. Be the beach, not the generic tourist resort. 🏖️

Do you really need to know what coffee your ideal client drinks or what magazines they read? ☕📚
Honestly? No.

A lot of marketing advice will tell you to build an “ideal client avatar” complete with hobbies, favourite shops, and Netflix habits.
But here’s the thing… you’re not trying to sell shoes or smoothies.
You’re a therapist and connection is your business.

People don’t choose you because of where they shop.
They choose you because they feel seen, safe, and understood.

So instead of obsessing over who they are on paper, show who you are as a person.
Share your story. Your quirks. Your values.
Let them see the real you, because that’s where trust begins.

And when people know you, like you, and trust you… that’s when they say yes. 💛

If you needed heart surgery, would you choose a heart specialist or a general doctor? ❤️‍🩹

It sounds obvious, right? Yet so many therapists try to be the “general doctor” in their business, helping everyone with everything.

Here’s the truth:
When you try to help everyone, your message gets blurry. But when you specialise, when you speak directly to one person and their specific problem, that’s when people start paying attention.

They don’t want “a therapist.”
They want the therapist who helps people like them.

So ask yourself:
➡️ Who do I love working with the most?
➡️ What do I help them achieve or overcome?
➡️ How do I want to be known?

The clearer you get, the easier it becomes for your ideal clients to find you and for you to do the work you truly love.

She wanted to help everyone… and ended up helping almost no one.

I worked with a client who could help people in so many ways, coaching, therapy, training. Naturally, she wanted to tell everyone everything she could do.

The problem? When you try to speak to everyone, you actually speak to no one.

She was scared that if she focused on just one niche, she’d get fewer clients, less work, and “miss out” on helping others.

Here’s the truth: the moment she agreed to niche down and speak directly to her ideal client, something amazing happened.
💛 Her ideal clients felt seen, heard, and understood.
💛 Emotions were evoked and clients felt like she was speaking directly to them.
💛 She had clarity in what she was saying, and the work she really wanted to do became easier to find.

It didn’t mean others didn’t contact her, it meant she could focus on the work she wanted to do, with the people she wanted to work with.

Your ideal client and niche are essential foundations for your business.
It can feel scary to narrow your focus when you’re starting out, but you can start broad and refine as you grow.

✨ Clarity leads to connection.

Sometimes the biggest smiles hide the most.

Today is World Mental Health Day, so today I wanted to remind you that everyone has something going on in their life, even if you don’t think they do.
So be kind, treat others the way you like to be treated and EVERYDAY not just today, look after your mental health!

Our mind controls everything yet we neglect it the most. To me mental health is even more important than physical health, because when the mind is healthy the body often follows…
