On Day 1, he guided the discussions of Prof. Tomas Albrektsson (Osteoimmune Regulation and Marginal Bone), Dr. Carlos Aparicio (Patient-Specific Zygomatic Surgery: The ZAGA Concept in a Nutshell), and Dr. Lesley David (Zygomatic Implants: A Life-Long Journey for Patient and Clinician), closing the morning with an engaging round table.

On Day 2, Dr. Nicolaievsky returned to lead the debate following Dr. David Pastorino (ZAGA Centers Introduction), Dr. Maxim Kopylov & Dr. Taras Yurov (A Systematic Approach for the Rehabilitation of the Atrophic Maxilla), and Dr. Nick Egbert (Managing Complications in Full-Arch Implant Dentistry). 🎤 Recap: Dr. Carlos Aparicio at Edentulism 2025 Conference

Dr. Carlos Aparicio, president of Edentulism Conference, after opening the congress alongside Prof. Chantal Malevez, gave a talk entitled “Patient-Specific Zygomatic Surgery: The ZAGA Concept in a Nutshell,” in which he explained how the ZAGA Concept transforms the use of zygomatic implants into a standardized and predictable treatment for severe maxillary atrophy. He emphasized the importance of using zygomatic implants only as a last resort, always prioritizing conventional implants when possible.

“We spend a lot of time when we train in dentistry and surgery on the actual doing, we focus on ex*****on, we focus on our skills. But it is as much a cognitive exercise as it is a digital exercise. And so much has to go into the planning, the understanding, when we undertake these treatments. Because at the end of the day, if we get it wrong at the very beginning, we're asking for trouble down the road.
