✨ ECTRIMS 2025 — Barcelona ✨

The ECTRIMS Congress is the most important global event in our field, bringing together nearly 10,000 people dedicated to advancing research and care for multiple sclerosis (MS).

This year we were proud to be locals, and from Cemcat we had an outstanding participation. But beyond all the science and our shared commitment to improving patients’ lives, what I value the most are the connections with colleagues from all over the world.

Grateful and inspired to keep pushing high-quality research to make a real difference for people living with MS. 💙✨

Last week I had the great honor of attending as a speaker at the Indian Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ICTRIMS) Congress in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, discussing risk mitigation strategies in MS patients.

I was truly astonished by the generosity, humility, and warmth of the organizers and the Indian people. This was much more than just an academic experience — it was deeply inspiring on a personal level.

I sincerely thank the ICTRIMS organizers, led by Dr. Netravathi M, European Charcot Foundation and prof. Xavier Montalban for their kind support.

Looking forward to reuniting with so many friends and dear colleagues at the upcoming ECTRIMS congress in beautiful Barcelona.

🌍 ¿Qué significa un diagnóstico de esclerosis múltiple?

He tenido la oportunidad de trabajar e investigar en Colombia, España y ahora Australia. En cada lugar, el diagnóstico de EM tiene un significado distinto: depende de quién eres, dónde estás y qué sistema te acompaña.

🇨🇴 En Colombia, aprendí sobre la fuerza humana y el valor de la resiliencia.
🇪🇸 En España, descubrí el poder de un sistema de salud pública que intenta llegar a todos. A pesar de contar con menos recursos para investigación que otros países, el país sigue siendo referente en EM.
🇦🇺 En Australia, sobre cómo la investigación y la práctica clínica se pueden alinear para cambiar vidas.

A pesar de las diferencias, algo siempre se repite: detrás de cada diagnóstico hay una persona enfrentando miedo, esperanza e incertidumbre.

La medicina traslacional es clave. No se trata solo de ciencia, sino de mejorar la vida de quienes viven con EM.
Y eso solo es posible si escuchamos todas las voces.

🌐 La revisión de los criterios diagnósticos de EM en 2024 es prueba de que el progreso real ocurre cuando compartimos conocimientos y colaboramos.

Hoy, en el , me siento agradecido de poder sumar mi voz.
Sigamos aprendiendo, traduciendo, escuchando.
