Mis padres me dieron un nombre cuando nací, Daniela, años después, escogí mi propio nombre, "La Malquerida", uno de los nombres con los que llamamos a la catrina en México, escogí ese nombre por dos razones, el primero mi obsesión con la muerte y el segundo por qué se que algún día me llevará con ella. Creo arte preguntándome cómo podemos vencer a la muerte a través de los recuerdos, indagando las raíces de mi pueblo y la memoria que estos crean. Soy artista textil, nacida en la Ciudad de México, donde estudie la Licenciatura en Diseño Textil en la Universidad Iberoamericana, y cursos como Ilustración Textil y Bordado en Taller Textil Dos Coyotes. Viví en Barcelona para estudiar Creación de Arte Contemporáneo y ahora en Dublín para estudiar Bordado.

My parents gave me a name when I was born, Daniela, years later I chose a name for myself, "La Malquerida" , the one that is bad loved, one of the many names we give to The Death in Mexico, and I chose to borrow it from her for two reasons, my obsession with dead and that one day she is going to take me with her, anyway. I crete art to question how can we defeat dead through recollections, researching the roots of my people and the memories they create. I am a textile artist, born in México City, where I got my degree in Textile Design at Universidad Iberoamericana and did clases like Textile Ilustration and Embroidery at Taller Textil Dos Coyotes. I lived in Barcelona to study Creation of Contemporary Art and now I live in Dublin, while I study Embroidery.
