The holidays can be beautiful… and also completely disruptive 🙃
Later bedtimes, travel, visitors, skipped naps, extra snacks—suddenly everything feels a bit off.

If sleep has become more unsettled, routines feel messy, or days feel out of rhythm, you’re not doing anything wrong. This is very common after the festive period.

At our next Mum & Baby Wellness Circle on Monday the 12th at 11:00, we’ll gently talk about:

• how to reset sleep after holiday disruptions
• creating supportive rhythms before and after baby arrives
• bringing feedings and meals into a daily flow that works for your family
• rebuilding routines without pressure or rigidity
• and answering your real-life sleep questions

This isn’t about “starting over” or being strict.
It’s about small, realistic steps that help you feel more grounded—and help your baby (now or soon) feel secure too 🤍

☕ Coffee, tea, warm company, and playtime for little ones included.
💬 Come as you are—pregnant, newly postpartum, or already in the thick of it.

Questions are always welcome.

This post isn’t about sleep information or progress.

It’s about gratitude.

This year challenged me personally,
but the families I worked with reminded me what connection really means.

You trusted me during nights that felt endless.
You shared your fears, doubts, and small wins.
You allowed me into a space that is deeply private.

That’s not something I take lightly.

So if you were one of the families I worked with—
thank you.
You truly made this year meaningful for me.

And if you’re here quietly reading, learning, or feeling unsure—
you belong here too 🤍😊

Wishing you a Merry Christmas,
full of warmth, closeness, and rest 🤍

Toddler bedtime struggles don’t mean you’re doing something wrong.

They usually mean your child has changed.

Developmentally.
Emotionally.
In what they need from you.

More advice doesn’t help.
Clarity does.

That’s why Mastering Bedtime exists.

Not to add rules.
But to help you understand what’s really driving bedtime resistance —
and respond with calm, confidence, and connection.

No harsh methods.
No ignoring emotions.
No guessing.

If evenings have started to feel heavier than they used to,
this will make sense.

One of the most exhausting challenges in the newborn stage?
That upside-down rhythm where your baby is wide awake at night…
and sleeps endlessly during the day.

Here’s the science behind it ⤵️

Newborns aren’t born with a working circadian clock.
Their brain doesn’t yet understand day vs night — so they sleep in tiny pieces around the clock.

But you can gently guide this rhythm, without forcing a routine.

🌞 1️⃣ Make the days “feel” like days

If nights are too active, it’s often because days are too quiet and too sleepy.

A simple shift helps enormously:
• keep daytime bright (natural light!)
• allow normal household noise
• interact, feed, change, play gently during awake times
• avoid letting every nap run endlessly in deep darkness

This creates the contrast their brain needs to start organising that internal clock.

⏰ 2️⃣ Wake them from very long naps (with care)

If naps stretch to ~2 hours or more, gently shorten them.
Not because we want to deprive them — but because waking a baby from very deep, very long sleep is harder for their nervous system:

• they wake grumpy
• they feed poorly
• they stay in “night mode” even though it’s daytime

It’s not about removing naps — simply reducing the long ones so days stay active and nights start consolidating.

(Parents hate the idea of waking a sleeping baby — but when they understand the why, everything clicks.)

🌙 3️⃣ Make nights quiet, calm, predictable

Dim lights, quiet voices, slower movements.
Your baby slowly learns: this is night.

Day by day, the rhythm starts to settle.
If you’d love personal guidance on your newborn’s day–night confusion — with clear steps tailored to your baby — I offer newborn consultations where you get all the foundational tools you need to support your newborn confidently.

If bedtime at your house feels long, emotional, or full of negotiations — this guide is for you.

In over 60 pages, I walk you step by step through what actually helps toddlers (18–36 months) and preschoolers (3–5 years) settle more calmly at night — without cry-it-out methods.

Inside the guide, you’ll learn:
• How to set up optimal daytime routines so enough sleep pressure builds naturally
• How to structure a calm, predictable bedtime routine that supports the brain
• Behavioural techniques for real-life bedtime struggles:
– separation anxiety
– power struggles & boundary testing
– bedtime procrastination with endless requests
– fear of the dark
– “only mommy” parent preference
• Gentle tools like Controlled Choices, Sleep Tickets, playful games, and connection rituals
• How to hold boundaries kindly and consistently (this is where most parents get stuck)
• Guidance on crib-to-bed transitions, sleep environment, temperature, light, and sound

Everything is science-based, aligned with pediatric research and current recommendations, and grounded in my experience as a neuroscientist, gentle sleep coach, and mum — focusing on what truly works for children at this age.

No pressure. No ignoring emotions. Just clear structure, reassurance, and practical tools you can start using right away.

Looking for a meaningful Christmas present — for yourself or for a parent who needs a boost?
Better sleep is one of the most transformative gifts you can give.
And that’s exactly what this Christmas Sleep Bundle is created for. 🎄✨

If sleep suddenly feels harder…
If naps are all over the place…
If bedtime takes forever…
This bundle gives you a focused, science-backed kick-start to get things back on track 👇

✨ 3-Day Sleep Log Assessment — I analyse your baby’s sleep + feeding patterns, wake windows, sleep pressure balance, and pinpoint what’s getting in the way.
✨ 30-min Consultation — quick, precise, and targeted to your biggest challenge.
✨ Personalised Sleep Plan — clear steps tailored to your baby’s age and current needs.
✨ 1 Week of WhatsApp Support — to help you begin the plan with confidence.

❗️An important note ❤️
This Christmas Bundle is created for families who want a fast, focused reset rather than a full in-depth program.
* The consultation is shorter than my standard deep dive, so we go straight to the core issues — no full temperament assessment is included.
*The 1-week support is designed to help you start strong and see early progress, but you’ll need to feel motivated to continue independently afterward.
*Perfect as a present for someone who’s struggling with sleep and would benefit from a little support and clarity.

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to improve sleep… this is it.
🎄Valid until Dec 16-th.
🎄 Limited spots — message me “XMAS” for details.

If your baby’s day feels like a rollercoaster — great morning, messy afternoon, chaotic bedtime — start here:
the first nap.

I can’t tell you how many families come to me saying, “Lena, every day falls apart after lunch,” when the real issue was the nap that happened hours earlier.

Why does the first nap have so much power?
Because this is the moment the brain resets sleep pressure and aligns the inner clock. When we get this nap right, the rest of the day finally has something solid to stand on.

Think of it like the first domino.
When it falls into place… everything else follows.

When this nap lands too early, too late, or too long, you’ll often see:
• short second nap
• late third nap
• overtired evenings
• night wakes or early rising

And yes — we can improve this nap gently, with closeness, responsiveness, and without forcing anything. Babies settle into rhythm beautifully when we work with their biology, not against it.

If you’re ready for calmer days and easier evenings… start with this nap.
And if you want help? I’m right here. Book a free assessment call - link in my bio.
