I’m starting to share the things I normally keep to myself.

If you like learning from real experience combined with solid theory, you’ll feel at home on my Substack. This is where I go deeper on business and mindset. Subscriber-only posts, real numbers, real decisions, and the strategy behind building a business through self-publishing, coaching, and personal branding. It’s also where I share the thoughts and insights I don’t post anywhere else.

Think of it as a quiet corner of the internet where I document my booming business journey as it unfolds. Clear, grounded, and practical. No noise. No fluff. No fake hustle. Just thoughtful insights from a psychologist who believes sustainable success is built step by step.

My What It Takes to Thrive articles will be live soon. For now, you can already read my daily notes here: https://kellyweekers.substack.com/notes

I’ve been scared of so many things. From starting my own business to writing a book, self-publishing it, moving abroad, and starting a new business in a new language. And all of it brought me so much joy and fulfillment.

Please don’t ever let uncomfortable or anxious thoughts keep you from doing the things you would love to try. It’s totally logical to feel that way when you’re not used to doing something and you’re doing it for the very first time. That’s just how our brain works to keep us safe. Actually doing the thing you’re scared of will gradually make you feel more comfortable, because your brain will notice there’s no real threat.

By now, I’ve learned that new things will always feel scary, simply because they’re outside of my comfort zone. So instead of letting fear stop me, I ask myself: “What would I choose if I let go of all my fears?” That’s the choice I make. Facing the fear head on, knowing that the feeling isn’t permanent.

How you feel after spending time with someone tells you a lot about that friendship.

Every friendship has phases and that’s ok. The right ones still make you feel safe, seen, and good about yourself.

Recently, I left a party earlier than my extroverted friends. Had the best time, but my introverted battery ran out. And my friends, they get it. I leave when I've had enough, not when the night ends.

Zero FOMO, zero guilt. That's part of maturity. Doing what feels right for you. Because here's the thing, I used to have friends who made me feel like I wasn't enough unless I stayed until 2 a.m. Totally right. So I'd stay, staring at a wall, pretending I was having fun. What I should have done, left, and get a new group of friends. We don't all need to be the same, definitely not. But you do need people who celebrate your authenticity, not ones who guilt you into shrinking just to fit in.

You're never lame or boring or crazy or too much for that matter. When you're doing what's right for you, you just do you, and the right people will find you.

“Empty the cup.”

Sometimes, the only way to let something that’s blocked flow again is to let go of what no longer fits. This beautiful idea comes from Shi Heng Yi. His message is simple, yet profound: you can’t pour fresh tea into a cup that’s already full.

We often hold on to what we know. Familiar feels safe. Predictable feels comfortable. But familiar doesn’t automatically mean healthy. Starting over can be scary. But those who dare to do it are often richly rewarded by life. Just empty the cup. — extract from Choosing Me
