Hello beautiful humans.
Have you heard of oxygen treatments? I have and yes I tried it freely, as I have clients asking me what the deal is with all the oxygen cabins and oxygen spa treatments. Do they help me sleep Christina? Can I do it once and thatās it? To answer and be perfectly clear, this is not a quick sleep fix and thatās the point of my post today.
You wonāt find a quick fix for your problems and then itāll all falls into place. Itās more than that when it comes to sleep, nervous systems and body regulation.
But Iām curious to know, learn and thrive as a guide and coach. So Iāve been exploring different supportive tools around sleep and nervous system regulation lately, and yesterday I tried oxygen-based relaxation for the first time myself.
Just to be clear - I donāt use it in my practice yet - Iām still in the stage of experiencing and understanding it properly, not just reading about it.
What Iāve seen so far is that approaches like this may support:
⨠a slower, deeper breathing pattern
⨠a shift out of stress activation
⨠a sense of calm in the nervous system
But Iām very mindful that:
This it is not a treatment for sleep problems or insomnia.
The effects vary a lot from person to person
And it only makes sense as part of a wider, long-term approach - it should not be used as a quick fix.
And that last part is really where my work always comes back to.
Because sleep is never just about sleep - I know that sleep is so much more. And especially in peri-menopause and menopause. Itās a full system conversation: hormones, stress load, nervous system state, and daily rhythm.
This is also what I just shared in my latest newsletter.
I talk about why Iāve become cautious with melatonin, what I see in practice, and why the body often doesnāt need more āhelp fixesā - but simply better conditions and routines to regulate itself again.
If you want to read it, and didnāt sign up for my newsletters yet, you can sign up via my website
