Meet Bukun Mapua Huni Kuin he is the eldest son of Tuim Nova Era, chief of Aldeia Espelho da Vida, and is a rising young leader and Txana (traditional chanter) in his community. Located in the Huni Kuin Indigenous Territory along the Humaitá River in Acre, Brazil, Bukun has devoted himself since childhood to learning ancestral songs and traditions under the guidance of his family’s elders. Through sacred diets, he has deepened his connection to the spiritual knowledge of his people. A remarkably talented composer, his original songs have garnered national and international recognition. As a member of the musical group Balanço da Floresta, Bukun expresses the strength and beauty of Huni Kuin culture through his artistry.

Meet Batani Huni Kuin 7may in Ibiza,

Batani Huni Kuin is the mother of Bukun and serves as vice-coordinator of women at Aldeia Espelho da Vida, within the Huni Kuin Indigenous Territory on the Humaitá River in Acre, Brazil. She is a member of the Keneya Xarabu women’s collective and actively works to empower women in her community. A keeper of sacred medicines and healing prayers, Batani is deeply committed to preserving and transmitting traditional knowledge, ensuring the continuity of Huni Kuin spirituality and cultural heritage.

Yube Huni Kuin

Yube Huni Kuin is the younger brother of Tuim Nova Era and serves as a Txana (traditional chanter) at Aldeia Espelho da Vida, located in the Huni Kuin Indigenous Territory along the Humaitá River in Acre, Brazil. From an early age, he has dedicated himself to learning traditional songs and ancestral knowledge under the guidance of his family’s elders. He has undertaken sacred diets, strengthening his connection to the spiritual wisdom of his people. A gifted artist, Yube is a member of the musical group Balanço da Floresta, through which he carries forward the power and beauty of Huni Kuin culture.
