Your Food Freedom Formula ⬇️⬇️

There are five main reasons we overeat :
1. Diets
2. Exhaustion/Overwork
3. Critical Self-Talk
4. Pushing Our Emotions Down With Food
5. Habit

To stop overeating and feel in control with food again, you need to…

1. RECONNECT – Ditch diets & eat for hunger again.
2. REST – Relax and have fun again.
3. RETHINK – Be kind to your mind.
4. RELEASE & REGULATE – Feel your emotions instead of "eating your feelings."
5. REWIRE – Break the time/place habit loops.

And we need to practice these five things repeatedly because...

🔁 Repetition is the mother of skill.
And...
🔁 Practice makes permanent.

And that takes time.

I wish it were simpler.
I wish it were faster.
I wish there were a quick fix.

But overeating is messy, complicated, and takes time to change.

That said, you may be astonished by how much can change in just one year—even after decades of overeating.

And when you really think about it... if you could undo decades of yo-yo dieting, emotional eating, and body shame in a year or less… that’d actually be SUPER QUICK, all things considered. 🔥

Right?

Sending a little Valentine’s Day love 😘

What do you do?  When it’s not even 9am and it already all feels a bit f*cked? 😬😬😬Got out of bed late.

What do you do? When it’s not even 9am and it already all feels a bit f*cked? 😬😬😬
Got out of bed late. 
Missed the morning workout. 
Ate a slice of cake for breakfast. 

In the past on the days when everything started badly, I would feel terribly anxious and I’d plan how to “make up” for the bad by being extra good:
“I’ll skip lunch”
“I’ll do 2 workouts later.”
“I’ll crush my To Do List.”

And all that ever did was lead me to binge city!!

What I learned to do instead is to catch myself spiralling and PAUSE. 
Slow it all down.
Take a deep breath and accept what is true.
“Yep, it’s not ideal.” 
“Yep, it doesn’t feel good to start that way.”
“Yep, I wish I’d done the workout.”
“Yep, eggs on toast might have been a better choice.”

Then take a deep breath and let go.
Let go of my expectations.
Let go of the pressure to “make it up”.
Let go of what I can’t change.

Go slowly.
Get one thing done at a time.
No added hurry. 
No extra pressure.
No skipping meals or doubling down on exercise.

When I slow it down and take the pressure off, the day usually starts to turn around.

And 9 times out of 10 I get all the important stuff done, eat well, and get that workout in after all. 😃😂

It’s taken practise, of course.
And it can be challenging on days when life’s a bit crazy and energy is high.
But it’s always been worth the focussed effort.

I used to be an AFAP girl!!
Now I’m an “all in good time” kinda woman.
And I would never have guessed how much happier slowing things down would make me 😃.

This is the PERFECT quote to chew on during the ‘crimbo limbo’.

That time when things slow down just enough for us to reflect on the year past, and make plans for the year ahead.

As somebody who has used intuitive listening to recover from chronic disordered eating … I’ve finally got the message that my inner wisdom is a phenomenal guide. 

And the more I connect with my gut instinct, the more I realise 3 things: 

1. It’s always the RIGHT decision.
2. It’s often the harder one.
3. It can take time before it’s clear that it was the best decision after all.

(Which is why my head usually gets in the way - to try to keep things safe or easy.)

🤔 What is your gut instinct saying to you now?

⭐️ What should your priority be in 2024?

If there’s a whisper, that’s saying that it’s time to get some help with compulsive eating …. then I’d like to invite you to chat with me. 

It usually takes 3 -6 months of work to see big shifts and changes.

And 6-12 months before we see the work that we do together taking root in a deeply exciting and ‘automagical’ way.

Listen to that inner whisper, and this time next year you’ll be tackling ‘better quality problems’.

Don’t hesitate.

Let’s chat before your head kicks in with all the reasons why “you can do it alone’’, or “you’re bound to fail, so why try”.

It’s been a while since Mumsie has popped into Palma to visit … and Mallorca did not disappoint!

The weather and views were great but the giggles will be what I remember!

(Admittedly we were not laughing when she lost her passport before boarding the plane back to the UK yesterday 😬. That’s a memory I’d sooner forget. But hey - it all worked out in the end - and I got another day to hang out with her 😃)

Spending time with our friends and family is the best part of the festive season for me.

It can be stressful too - no doubt - but before we know it it’s all over and we’re back to our busy lives.

So, I guess all that we can do is try to stay as present as we can, let go of the stressy things as much as we can, and savour the time that we have with them to the max.

Lately I’ve been wondering …

What if studies showed that more social connection lead to weight loss? 
Would we count our friendships like we count our calories?

What if more low level sunlight was guaranteed to slow ageing?
How obsessed would we get about stepping outside to watch the sunrise and sunset every day?

What if quality sleep was all it took to 10x our income?
Would we invest in our rest and recovery like we invest in our crypto portfolios?

Food for thought.
