Chemotherapy causes several side effects, although these widely vary depending on the person and the type of cancer. It also depends on its location, the drug used and the dose of it, as well as the general health of the patient.

In this post we want to comment on the most common side effects 😷 and some considerations that may be of your interest:

🔹 Alopecia: this is one of the most emotionally shocking side effects. Hair loss is usually sudden as it usually occurs after 15 days of treatment. It is recommended to cut the hair short to help assimilate the change.

🔸 Chemotherapy can produce red coloration of urine up to approx. 48 hours after administration.

🔹 During the infusion you may notice discomfort or redness in the puncture area or along the vein, do not hesitate to warn health personnel.

🔸 Mucositis. It is common to suffer the appearance of sores and taste changes.

🔹 Asthenia (tiredness), nausea and vomiting, or diarrhea.
