A little life update… 🥹

I’ve been growing a baby - and it still feels a bit surreal to say that out loud. The journey here hasn’t been the easiest, but I’ve felt held, supported, and deeply loved every step of the way ✨

I’m grateful beyond words, with heart wide open and body blooming. Lately, feeling very much like a goddess 💫

That’s why I’m pressing pause on teaching for now, and hoping to return next year with even more softness and presence in our yoga practice 🌿

What if joy isn’t something we have to chase - but something we can notice, every day? 👀

I think social media often makes us believe that happiness comes from buying more - new clothes, new skincare, new bio-hacking gadgets. Or from traveling to exotic places and curating this Insta-perfect lifestyle. And when our own lives don’t look like that, it’s easy to feel like we’re missing something 😶‍🌫️

So today I want to share a few small joys that made me feel really good lately. And they didn’t require any purchases or far-distant travels (although I know that living in Spain is a win already 🫠) Maybe some of them will inspire you too 💫

1. Morning meditation on the balcony because it’s a Saturday and I don’t need to rush to work
2. Flowers leaving their shadow in the wall
3. Absolutely beautiful Sorolla’s exhibition (our local Valencian painter) who was capturing beach life in the early 1900s
4 -5 Family trips and friends visiting
6. Little crafts during my modern art lecture (of course I signed up for this instead of focusing on Spanish 🤡)
7. Full moon magic
8. Apple pie crumble, gf, lf and sugar free 🫠

Maybe we don’t need to buy or do more to feel fulfilled. Maybe instead we just need to notice more 💛

Rest is fuel 🌿

As I’m diving deeper into the nervous system, nourishing resting and how it affects us, I came across this quote: “Rest is fuel” by

Which reminds that just like a car needs gas to keep going, we need rest to feel our best 💆🏻‍♀️

And you know what’s funny? That car analogy hits home for me. I always make sure my car never dips below 25% fuel, yet feeling exhausted seems to happen more often than I’d want to admit.

To help myself manage my restful time better, I’ve started scheduling daily “rest” time in my calendar 😶‍🌫️

And yeah, in a perfect world I’d always know when to slow down, but sometimes we are dragged into the rabbit hole of busyness and we forget for a moment why we are here 😬

And that’s when my calendar notification comes to rescue reminding me to take a break, put away my phone, and just relax 😌

In a world where we’re always busy, not only with work but also our phones, it’s super important to take a step back and slow down sometimes.

Slow down to see our real journey in this life, not to get more productive.

Invest time and effort in building relationships.

And as a few days ago I sat between the yellow tulips during the endometriosis awareness picnic I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the connections and friendships that I made in my life 🥹

For women who stood by my side, listened with compassion, cried and laughed with me, shared teas, offered hugs and simple saw me as a whole. For women who became sister and didn’t look away when things got uncomfortable.

And I am grateful to each one of you 💛

And as I said the other day, when life gives you lemons, make a hot lemon water and hold your hand tighter 🫶🏻

Moving slowly, moving gently, and turning inward ✨

Reading poetry and practicing yin and restorative yoga isn’t about the looks or perfect alignment— It’s about what’s inside. About taking a moment to look within.

It’s about experiencing the stillness, experiencing what happens when everything around us slows down. When it’s just us, our breath and the sensations within our bodies.

It’s about hearing and listening —to ourselves, to our bodies.

It’s about patience and discomfort, and discovering our unique responses to challenges, silence, and the urge to escape.

It’s much more than lying down and hugging bolsters and blankets. It’s about nourishing our fascia, rejuvenating our nervous system and simply being.

It’s like a pause button in this hectic world we happen to live in 🌿

Rest as our birthright🌿

„I don’t need to deserve to rest.” - I repeat these words like a mantra every time this little voice in me says that my to-do list is waiting and I shouldn’t be resting now. That I don’t have the time to rest. And I bet it sounds familiar 🤯

So we have to remind ourselves that rest is not a luxury but a basic part of being alive. Just like animals and plants, we all need time to slow down, hibernate and recharge.

Let’s try seeing rest as a chance to reconnect and enjoy life. It’s not about doing more or becoming more productive; it’s about being kind to ourselves and finding balance.

So this weekend, I’m inviting you to explore the idea of resting without feeling guilty and seeing what happens.

As Tricia Hersey said: “But here’s the truth: We are not resting to be productive. We are resting simply because it is our divine right to do so.”

When your body seems away 👇

Sometimes we find ourselves disconnected from our bodies.
Social media insists on pushing us to do hard things, learn new skills, become stronger, do cold plunges, meditate and keep on optimising everything we do 🤯

And then we add smartwatches to the mix, which track our bodies and tell us when we need to rest, how many more steps we need to do…

But, have you considered trying to take moment to reconnect with yourself, all on your own? 🧐

If you are not sure where to start, I invite you to explore gentle, intentional yoga movement with my YouTube channel. A movement that is aligned with our physical shape and movement that sends a soothing message to our nervous system, saying, "you are fine." 😌

And when that signal of safety is present, our health metrics respond positively. Our cortisol drops, our immune system works better and we can sleep more restful.

Our bodies have to cope with so much already, so let's show them more appreciation rather than demands. 🙏

Hi 2024 ✨

Your previous counterparts didn’t work very well with wishlist, so this time around, let’s change the rules a bit.

I’ll take the lead, and you can be the supporting character—deal? Ah and I’m not planning on changing, so it will be the OLD ME, it should make things easier too 💫

So in 2024 I wish that I will still be able to:

🌿 have trust, see the positives even stormy clouds above my head
🌿 offer self-compassion, really be by my side when it’s sh*tty and heavy
🌿 feel independent (like during my solo roadtrip)
🌿 feel safe and capable
🌿 have the courage to do scary things (selfie right after swimming with sharks)

And of course, may the year bring endless pieces of bread with salty butter, because, why not?
(the easiest way for a quick mood booster)
