Monday mood! The winter hibernation for Khu Khu means moving from inspiration to design, from print to production. Fan-making with Spanish made woods (our Social Butterfly fans are made with beech wood painted black) takes anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks depending on the time of year. From wood block to mounted fan - it's pure metamorphosis!!

This is a final polished mood board for  PARADISE PARROTS. It began with a mish-mash of tropical plants, pretty birds, Brazilian elements and artworks in parrot colours with vintage travel bits and bobs.

¡Olá! I'm so pleased to share with you Khu Khu’s bold, beautiful and Brazil-inspired collection, LOVE BIRDS.

We were influenced by vintage postcards and stamps, artists such as Tarsila de Amara, and of course our feathered friends in the tropics! In order to best capture the essence of Brazil, we worked alongside Rio de Janeiro based creative Duda Van Den Berg who perfectly interpreted our ideas in a fresh and eye-catching style. 🇧🇷🪇🦜🦜🪇🇧🇷

The curvy detachable wristlets and multi-coloured trims that come with each fan were inspired by the Copacabana Beach promenade and make each fan truly unique. Just the vibe to shimmy and maraca-shake your way through Summer. 🪇🪇🪇

Finally I have to mention the quality of these fans. They are the very best we have ever done! We’re talking BEAUTIFUL paint quality and finish, they roll open and close like a breeze, the colours are just so vibrant and just generally WOW. You will not want to take this thing off your wrist.
