Day 9: Each morning we get dressed, and evaluate our closet of its contents. 👚👖🩳👟🧦

If your closet is filled with clothes that you don’t like, are damaged, don’t fit your body, or just don’t bring you joy or excitement, that can be something that brings you down. This week, get rid of some items in your closet (like your sock drawer) of clothes that are just taking up space so that you can make room for better things in the future!

EXTRA CREDIT: by donating your clothes, you not only unburden yourself of things that you don't like or don't fit, you also have the chance to help others in need of clothing.

Day 8: Gratitude is a powerful thing that can boost your mood and make you feel more at ease with every aspect of your life. While circumstances around us can be challenging, stressful and sometimes event hopeless, being grateful for what is going well (or even just ok) can help life your spirits.

This week, take the time each day (even if it’s just for a moment) to list off a few things you’re grateful for.

You can either schedule it into your day by setting time aside, or just squeeze it in where it makes sense—like during a shower, while you comb your hair, brush your teeth, or you’re sitting at a stoplight.

EXTRA CREDIT: Wake up with gratitude, commit to one complaint-free day, reflect on what went well at the end of the day.

"Day 7 : Sometimes, when we’re feeling down, we restrict ourselves from food (or certain foods), forget to eat, or do the opposite and over-indulge. This week, make sure to check in with your body more often to see if you’re feeling hungry, and if so, what your body really needs.

If you’re craving something crunchy, try:
-Carrots with a yogurt-based dip
-Sliced apples with peanut butter
-Lightly buttered popcorn

If you’re craving something sweet/salty, try:
-A peanut butter and cracker sandwich with strawberries or apple slices inside
-Plain popcorn with sprinkled cinnamon or a light chocolate drizzle on top
-Sliced fruit drizzled with honey

Healthier choices can be made easier by creating balance in your diet. For instance, set a goal to have a least one fruit or vegetable with every meal, if possible!

Day 6: Let's be honest, we can’t please everyone. That’s just a fact of life. Unfortunately, that’s harder for some people to accept than others.

If you’re someone who always agrees to help even if they don’t have the time and energy to do so, practice saying no. Do it this week! Next time someone asks you to do something and you just really don’t have the energy for it (even if it’s a small thing), say no!

ቀን 6እውነት እንነጋገር ሁሉንም ሰው ማስደሰት አንችልም። ያ የህይወት እውነታ ብቻ ነው። እንደ አለመታደል ሆኖ ለአንዳንድ ሰዎች ከሌሎች ይልቅ ለመቀበል በጣም ከባድ ነው።

ሁልጊዜ እርስዎን ለመርዳት ጊዜው እና ጉልበቱ የሌላቸውን ሰዎች ለመርዳት የሚስማሙ ከሆነ ፣ አይሆንም ማለትን ተለማመዱ። በዚህ ሳምንት ያድርጉት። በሚቀጥለው ጊዜ አንድ ሰው አንድ ነገር እንድታደርግ ሲጠይቅህ እና ለእሱ ጉልበት ከሌለህ ። (ትንሽ ነገር ቢሆንም) አይሆንም በል!

Day 5: Try meditating!

Meditation isn’t as complicated as people make it out to be. Really, all it is is sitting/standing/walking quietly with yourself and breathing. You can meditate while you walk. You can meditate while you draw. You can also meditate while you sit cross-legged on a pillow.

Make time for a few minutes of meditation this week. Aim for at least two minutes each day. Does anyone here already practice regular meditation? If so, can you offer any tips?

Day 4: Show kindness to someone— couldn’t we all use a little extra kindness right now?

Checking in via text, or sharing a funny meme are all great options. If you’re able, you might also get some joy from treating a friend to coffee by sending them some money to brighten their day or running an errand for a friend who hasn’t had the time to do it themselves. Small things add up, and taking the time to make someone else’s day better will make you feel better too!

Day 3: Reach out to an old friend!

We are extremely social creatures who need to stay connected. As the pandemic has reminded us, a lack of connection can leave us feeling anxious and depressed, wso it makes sense that when we do have a chance to chat with friends, strangers, or anyone in between, we get a little shot of serotonin that boosts our mood.

This week, call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while who would appreciate hearing from you. Maybe this is an elderly family member or a friend who has moved away. If you’re not a phone person, send an email, mail a letter, or reconnect through social media.

EXTRA CREDIT: send a quick message of appreciation to all the people who you love and care about!

እኛ ግንኙነታችንን መቀጠል ያለብን በጣም ማህበራዊ ፍጥረታት ነን። ወረርሽኙ እንዳስታወሰን የግንኙነቶች እጦት እንድንጠበብእና እንድንጨነቅ ያደርገናል፣ስለዚህ ከጓደኞቻችን፣ ከማናውቃቸው ሰዎች ወይም በመካከላችን ካሉ ሰዎች ጋር ለመወያየት እድሉን ስናገኝ፣ ትንሽ የሆነ የሴሮቶኒን ምት እናገኛለን። መነቃቃታችን ይጨምራል።

Day 2 Challenge: Spend less time on your phone today! 📱

We all know that we're spending more and more time on our phones, in front of our computers, and staring at the television. Often, all that stimulation is making us anxious, distracted, and taking away from our overall well-being.

If you still don’t think you spend THAT much time on your phone, try turning on your weekly screen time reports on your phone, or go through your settings to see how much time you average on an app. You’ll probably be surprised!

So what's one of our favorite solutions? Try to set limits for yourself. You can do this with the help of your smartphone, certain apps on your computer, or just with sheer willpower. Start slow (cold turkey might be hard), and keep your phone in another room while you cook, do household chores, read a book, go for a walk, or do something else that doesn’t require a screen. (For instance and use the "app limits" features on their phones to limit time on time zapping apps.)

አሁንም በስልክዎ ላይ ያን ያህል ጊዜ እንደሚያጠፉ ካላሰቡ ሳምንታዊ የስክሪን ጊዜ ሪፖርቶችን በስልክዎ ላይ ለማብራት ይሞክሩ ወይም በመተግበሪያ ምን ያህል አማካይ ጊዜ እንዳለዎት ለማየት ቅንብሮችዎን ይመልከቱ። ምናልባት ትገረማለህ!

Day 1 Challenge: Drink a full glass of water as soon as you wake up! 💧💦

This will jumpstart your body after it's been fasting from liquids all night.

EXTRA CREDIT: Keep a bottle of water by your side all day to make it easier to stay hydrated!

Why is this self care? Generally speaking, we often forget to drink enough water regularly. Unfortunately, this dehydration can make us move slower, feel less energized, and just gets in the way of allowing our bodies to function as they need to.
