Mercy Ministry Happy Children’s Home is a non-profit organization that provides a help to the highly complex problems of the children who are forced to live on the streets. The organization is founded by a group of volunteers who have worked in different nonprofit and social/public advocacy organizations. Under the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Charities and Societies Agency, this association has been awarded legal certification and maintains legal registration. Driven by many facts, MMHCHA is planning to undergo project that aims at creating an enabling environment in which abandoned children will make out for a better livelihood. By doing so, MMHCHA hopes to contribute directly to the betterment of their livelihood and build a responsible, vibrant, and visionary generation by creating positive values among their guardians and helping them to face their problems bravely. General Objective
To ensure the protection and maintenance of physical and psychosocial well being of abandoned and orphaned children who are very prone to street life. And to empower families to be motivated and start work to support their own families. Activities
The primary goal of this ministry is to address these problems by bringing love and protection to those who need it the most. The rehabilitation process is not easy but extremely rewarding. The ministry aims to provide the following:
• Materials and basic amenities to children living with poverty stricken families.
• Encourage further education to the poor by supplying school fees, school supplies, medical care and the family support needed to get the children back in school.
• Provide the basic provisions for the vulnerable street kids in Addis Ababa to prepare them for a brighter future.
• To ensure the protection and maintenance of physical and psychosocial well being of abandoned and orphaned children who are very prone to street life.
• Empowering families and guardians by educating them and provide them with financial support so that they could go out of poverty and provide for their families.
• Providing nutritional support for children who are in need of the intervention
